Me, my partner, and some friends went to Darkside Art and Oddities Market yesterday! I picked up some sick jewelry, saw a pole dancing demonstration, and met some other furs!!

Guy last night asked me in VC what I was doing. Told him

Got back from my trip just in time for snow! It was an incredible time- a ton of dives, great people, fun research. I'm gonna have to figure out a way to do it again, and what I'm gonna do with myself until then

Kept myself and a friend from throwing up on the boat today by singing sea shanties. 10/10, shockingly effective. And come on, who doesn't want to sing sea shanties on the sea, it's legally required

Dived yesterday morning, raved last night, hiked this morning, and chilled this afternoon. This fuckin rocks.

So yeah, blew chunks at the first site almost immediately after landing. But we found a lot of artifacts, the snorkeling was great, and I had a great dive later this afternoon, so 10/10 day

Miami International Airport has rocking chairs, and now so should every other airport ever

Update: found a last-minute flight out of LaGuardia bright and early Wednesday morning. Snagged the last seat on the plane! If it works out, I won't have missed much, but I don't want to assume anything until I'm on the ground. Fingers very, very crossed!

And obviously I have many, MANY more thoughts and opinions on the "situation" from earlier, but Bluesky is already inundated with lefty political takes, it doesn't need mine too. Plenty of other posts share my sentiment, esp the ones mentioning "fascism", "imperialism", and "rat fuck"

Flight to my archaeology field school cancelled due to this morning's war crimes. Found out at the gate, 20 min before boarding. No other flights until halfway through the field school. Not happy about it, but at least I'm not one of the Aussie students currently stuck in Houston. Silver lining(?)

Happy New Year! I'm back on Bluesky!

-moved to another state
-took my partner to Paris
-visited 3 new continents
-quit my soul-draining corpo job

Now in 2026, my resolution is to actually use my account, probably like a personal blog. Not sure what I'll post yet!
