MeKenzie Martin Art 🎨

Set in profile, the pretty face of a woman devolves into an abstraction of patterns that stretch far past the natural end of her head suggesting an ornate headdress while simultaneously seeming quite organic to her as if she were made of chaos. She holds a hand delicately to her chest but the tips of her fingers suggest claws and the skin from the back of her hand down her arm isn’t smooth but more grotesque in texture. The cloth covering her is white and ethereal.

Can ONE brush do it all? Stress-testing this brush from my MeK Oil Brush Library for Procreate. This time it's with "Croissant" brush. Very opaque with "dirty" smudge property.

Predating my Earth and Sea series, but tapping into the tragic, fragile narratives learned from Vincent Desiderio while working as his assist. in the mid 90's.
Executed as a center panel of a triptych private commission for Jane and Howard Frank in 2001.
