Being trauma-informed isn't a program or initiative. It is a journey. It means learning about the brain and nervous system, the impacts of trauma on development, and understanding how the brain deals with stress. Then, using that info, we create better environments for humans!
Myth about restorative practices is that there are no consequences. Truth is every restorative interaction should result in some action plan to address harm. Those action plans are consequences that address harm, solve problems, and work to heal those harmed. #restorativepractices #traumainformed
