Boston Mayor Michelle Wu looks on before a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing on sanctuary cities' policies at the US Capitol in Washington, D.C. A quote on the card from Wu reads: “This federal administration is making hard-working, tax-paying, God-fearing people afraid to live their lives. A city that’s scared is not a city that’s safe. A land ruled by fear is not the land of the free.” Photo by Kayla Bartkowski/Getty

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu struck a defiant tone in her prepared remarks for a House hearing on immigration enforcement, defending the city’s approach and criticizing the Trump administration’s push to deport undocumented immigrants.

Republicans are fact-averse. These committee members are *the worst* humans in government. Here’s what they’re going to ignore tomorrow:

Trump's claim of routing water to Los Angeles is hogwash. It all goes to Central Valley megafarms. "It’s an attempt to tie water supply to a natural disaster, but those connections don’t exist in reality.”

Even if Los Angeles were low on water, Trump’s executive orders wouldn’t help with that, because the federal government’s canal system doesn’t actually deliver any water to the Los Angeles area.

The Washington Post just endorsed 19 Trump nominees. Here are the 5 worst. The Post previously said these nominees “spread treacherous disinformation,” “sabotage democracy,” and "parrot false claims about fraud." Now it says they lack "disqualifying deficiencies."

New, from me: The Washington Post Editorial Board previously said these Trump nominees “spread treacherous disinformation,” “sabotage democracy,” and "parrot false claims about fraud."

Now The Post endorses them.

Trump campaign paid law firm employing RFK Jr. weeks after he endorsed Trump The Trump campaign disbursed $100,000 to a California law firm that lists Kennedy as one of its attorneys three weeks after he bowed out of the race and backed Trump.

Quid Pro Whoa: The Trump campaign made a $100,000 payment to RFK Jr.’s law firm — shortly after RFK Jr. dropped out of the presidential race and endorsed Trump.

Last month, Trump named Kennedy as his choice to lead the Department of Health and Human Services.

Nearly every single Republican voted against releasing the Matt Gaetz ethics report.

Remember this the next time they pretend to care about protecting minors.

Seems really clear that the conservative majority is drawing up a broad decision that would say it's not sex based classification and that trans people do not meet quasi suspect class status. I can't tell you just how bad it would be. It would fully greenlight draconian laws.

I asked for a vote to pass a $11M federal grant to provide more trees & the workforce to plant them. Unfortunately, a colleague tried to block this $ from our communities. It’s a sad day when we have to justify tree investments in the face of potential federal cuts to our city.

'Viruses Are Our Friend'— 10 Off the Wall Video Clips from RFK Jr. Resurface on Bluesky Past comments include denying AIDS and calling vaccinated children "damaged"

A frustrating thing for me right now is the media narrative that RFK Jr is just an “anti-vaxxer” when he has said so many crazy things about other stuff over the years. We compiled 10 nutty clips on various topics, which still barely scratches the surface. open.substack.com/pub/meidasto...
