The mariners thought it an ill thing that the Captain should depart thus ... when all was made ready and men prepared to weigh anchor Erendis came there, little though she loved the noise and bustle of the great harbour and the crying of the gulls.

Meme picture of Kermit the frog sitting on a large grey sofa. He has a teacup on his lap.
This might be petty and immature of me, but I just love it when actors I've always found completely uninteresting and annoying based on demeanor alone turn out to actually be terrible people.

Why did "Heathcliff, it's me, I'm Cathyy, I've come home" start playing in my mind, ehehe.
I'm open to both โ could use it to spice up my life a little!

Mirror selfie of a brunette woman wearing a black corset type top with hooks over a white lace blouse with puffy statement sleeves. She's standing in a cosily lit room with gold framed paintings on the wall. Never in her life has she posted makeupless pictures before, but tis a vibe with this fit.
Same picture, slightly different pose.

knowledge, and most of it is right at our fingertips. Therefore, you simply do not get to ask those with Tourette's to cower in the shadows, avoid social spaces, or hide their tics.
I can't even imagine how valuable the film could be for making individuals living with the condition feel seen,

The New York Times interview from 1979 in which a man from Bergen County, US, talks about a doctor suggesting that he has a prefrontal lobotomy to treat his Tourette's tics. The article reads: In 1964, another doctor suggested a prefrontal lobotomy to remove the part of my brain believed to be controlling the involuntary actions. I underwent series of preliminary tests, but at the last moment decided against allowing myself to become a living vegetable.
Not so long ago, in the grand scale of things, individuals with Tourette's were locked away in institutions and, very sadly, sometimes even lobotomisedโsimply because we did not understand the condition, and there was no place for difference in the social space. There is now so much more

it's sometimes difficult to face new things, but there is always the capacity in humans to learn more and keep a more open mind towards the different shapes life takes.
Through John Davidson's decades of work (more so in the UK), there's been a massive shift in the perception of Tourette's.

The biggest contributing factor to the film's emotional sincerity is, of course, Robert Aramayo's brilliant performance. Aramayo doesn't have Tourette's, but he approaches the role with such respect and understanding

lived experiences of individuals living (or suffering, as some would say) with Tourette's, the film is often intentionally funny. It's also devastatingly sad, yet still remains hopeful.
In an almost claustrophobic way, it makes you imagine how isolating it would be to live with the condition

I've been sitting with my feelings toward the film 'I Swear'โwhich is inspired by Scottish Tourette's campaigner John Davidson's lifeโfor weeks now. Not because I don't want to talk about it, but because I haven't known how to put into words my feelings about something I loved so much. #ISwear

Agnes Obel - The Curse (Berlin Live Session)
YouTube video by Agnes Obel
I just always return to this video, even after over a decade. Wish I could thank Agnes Obel for feeding my soul and creating the most satisfying music I've ever listened to. So rich and gothic.
The Curse, Aventine, and The Familiar are some of the best songs, truly.
