I mean, I’ve been on the internet a long time, but it’s never been this bad, maybe in certain corners of the internet, but now it’s all corners. Growing up, people used to say horrible things to be edgy. Now they say them because they mean them; the cruelty is the point.

Is it just me, or is the internet blatantly evil and cruel now? Someone I followed on TikTok had a miscarriage, and she had to quit the app because people were using that to attack her and saying she deserved it. What happened to the internet?

I get that plenty of far right people prop her up as this symbol of beauty but as far as I’m aware Sidney herself hasn’t done this.

I notice that even leftists stoop to attacking appearances. I watched a video saying that far right people always look a certain way and that Sidney Sweeney looked like she had fetal alcohol syndrome… I think we can criticize her shameless greed without insulting her appearance.

Yes the current system is ruining the earth but it’s also an interconnected global system, that runs surprisingly efficiently. It’s not as simple as just taking over a factory. Any clog in the machine that goes wrong causes delays which then means products aren’t on shelves, people starve etc

It’s not just about education it’s a cultural thing. Even with education there’s a large portion of people that do not engage critically with the material in front of them. We have access to more free education than ever and yet people are still ignorant

The only hierarchy should arise out of merit and intelligence and skill. Economically everyone will be equal

I think even in a more equitable distribution system we need checks and balances credentials etc to ensure the people doing their jobs know how to do them. Farming for example, farmlands are now collectively owned but I don’t think anyone should be allowed entry or to work the farms

I have no idea who this is.. I was just making an observation from my own experiences. I’m very much in support of democratic socialists systems. But in practicality you cannot expect a revolution of the proletariat to work with modern day Americans… These people are logically not competent enough

The problem is cultural. We have a cultural that promotes religion over rationality. Nationalism over community. Individualism over empathy. We need to not only change our economic system but also our cultural system

I do agree with that I just think some people lack adequate intellectual abilities. There’s a certain level of stupid that conservatives for example exhibit. Many of these people have been conditioned to not think very deeply so even if they had access to education I’m not sure they’d change

If you wipe off a table and there’s tons of smear everywhere or crumbs then it’s not clean… if you sweep the floor but don’t get under tables or around corners and there’s still crumbs everywhere you did not sweep properly

Working retail has taught me that a shocking number of people do not know how to sweep or clean properly

The new Superman movie wasn’t bad but it also wasn’t great. It didn’t make me feel how I once felt about Superman or Superhero films in general. It was just your average run of the mill super hero movie and that’s okay. But I think with characters like Superman you can and should do so much more
