Did I just run late for a Zoom meeting because I was moving an almost dried out snail off the path & into a nearby muddy patch of foliage to help it out? YES.
Everything is fine.

Anyone else noticing trees taking longer to get their leaves in the south of England this year? Looking around my ends, the woods still look like winter.
There she is, my favourite tree on Hampstead Heath. Slowly waking up, ready to show off the fittest leaves in the tree world. The English oak.
We see you labour. Please explain.....

π― and this is large conservation organisations I'm talking about too. Not small scale things
stop f*cking doing that.
Do you donate your salary? What's the CEO on out of interest? I have rent to pay, people have kids to feed. If you can't justify paying for the job, don't offer a fee. If you offer, don't make us feel like sh*t for accepting it.
Hot Take π₯
Many of my friends in the wildlife/nature sector are self employed (like myself) & countless times when we accept small jobs (talks etc) we are asked by nature/wildlife orgs if we'd like the money or if we'd like to donate it to the/their charity & my hot take on this is below: ππ»ππ»
Super excited to be chatting with @chloedalton.bsky.social again, this time at @booksinthepark.bsky.social in April!

Just had the BEST time looking at the insect collections at the National Museum of Scotland. Yep, I'm a nerd & I'm happy.
Every photo of a gull eating is like they've been photographed on their way back from a night out with a kebab.
I know there's a lot of sh*t going on in the world & it's winter & it's cold & it all feels too much, but at least my neighbour has started learning the flute.
I adore that my neighbours put bird feeders out & connect with nature πππ»
With the combination of work & ultra marathon training this week (mon-fri), I've walked/ran 71.2 miles, so yeah, I'm having a beer tonight.
