I'm glad to report that I stopped caring about the so called New Atheist movement when Elevator Gate and the community's treatment of Watson made it clear that these 'Enlightened' men were the same old sexist fucks. (The Islamophobia, too.)
Rebecca Watson is brilliant, and pissed, and has decades of receipts and these creepy New Atheist assholes. Absolutely worth your time.
I haven't either, usually I do! But the roads are very bad. I usually bike to campus, but I fell on a shorter ride and it put me off my commute.

Ossoff: "This is a seismic event. This should have people across the country absolutely shook. This is a huge deal. This is an FBI raid on the Fulton County Elections office ... This is a shot across the bow at the midterm elections. He tried to steal power when he lost it in 2020."

AI is fine. I'm hoping to get in the French system. Going back to school at 50 is the scary part, really. But I have two kids to feed so... Maybe we could start one of those consultancy companies instead.

NEW: Without USAID funding to help buy food for refugees, the World Food Program rushed to prioritize families based on need, determining that only half the population would get food.
Refugees learned which half they were in from a number stamped on the back of their ration card.
Yeah, got the email. Not a lot of information about which positions are at risk. Doesn't feel good.
A vital read.

Dire.
Well, that's worrying.
I keep seeing journalism described as an "ecosystem" and I guess that tracks because it's undergoing an extinction crisis caused by billionaires, too.
I was told in grad school this was 'scientism' and never quite got the full argument why.
I love that a politician can say something like “I believe mice naturally spawn out of grain” and the news will now just treat that as a legitimate line of thought
