Having just looked up how birds reproduce, uh… if you were doing that I would certainly advise protection anyway. It sounds like it could get messy.
Only mammals can carry rabies, and dragons are usually depicted as being reptilian.
In DND they also have a high resistance to poison and disease, though not a full immunity.
(I looked it up just to make sure)
