If the boarding process was any indication, this is going to be a nightmare of a trip. I swear the gate crew at my gate was all on their first day. We're 30 minutes late taking off because loading an airplane is hard.

I'm a fan of sabotage. Turns out anyone can be a saboteur, you just have to start undermining the system when you see the opportunity.

Great. I'm leaving on that carrier in a few hours. One negative about where I live now is that the only Alaska flights are back to Seattle. Everything here, heading east, is AA, United, and SWA. So I'm stuck with these bozos

Since a number of folks have asked, no I won't be in Vegas this year. I'm heading to Mexico to scatter my brother's ashes. Not sure heading straight back and going to Vegas is the right move here. I'll catch y'all at something else this year.

If we can get into the location OR if we need specialized units with specialized equipment who might be coming from further out. God help us if we need out of county, state, or federal resources

I'm former SAR. I gave a presentation once about what goes into firing up a mission and the timetable it happens on. A lot of folks were surprised to see that from the time we *know* something bad happened it could be 4-6 hours before search teams are on the ground actively looking for you.

We're back again this year, and looking forward to seeing all your friendly faces.

Was just coming here to say this. I just couldn't remember if it was 30 or 60 days. I seem to remember Clinton did something back in the 90s that riled everyone up. Can't remember if it was strikes in the Balkans or what, but everyone said "You can't do that!" only to find that yes, he could.

Thanks. This is one of those onion problems. It's not just one thing but layers upon layers of things. Him and I were estranged for years and we were just starting to interact again. I'm also the one person in my dysfunctional family that talks to all parties... And it just goes on from there

Good news. I think I'm sorted out. The funeral director speaks fluent English and has offered to assist. One of my brother's friends from AA is a tour guide and he's going to help get us around and translate. Now I just have to do it.

Do I have any hacker friends in Cabo San Lucas? My little brother died this week and he lives there. My only point of contact there is his ex-girlfriend who speaks no English. I could use some bilingual help when I arrive. Thanks

Just got rejected for a manager role over at Canonical. The application asked me a lot of weird questions about High School. Kinda feel like I dodged a bullet there.
