Today, the greatest comedians in the world like Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Louis CK, and Bill Burr pop in at the cellar regularly to test new material and refine their craft before taking it to the world.
What does it takes to build and run the most prestigious comedy club in the world?
Noam Dworman owns the Comedy Cellar, the iconic New York comedy club that turns away 20,000 fans per week.
I'm thankful she took a chance on me then, and I'm grateful every day we get to work together on whatever new crazy idea or ambitious goal she has.
This was when I was still managing bands and "creator managers" weren't really a thing. We didn't know what managing someone who made videos meant, but I knew we could build a really compelling business together.
Ten years ago, I sent her a DM that read exactly like this: "Hey Simone, do you currently have management? If not, can I get your email? LOVE your youtube channel".
I've had the privilege of working with Simone since the beginning of her journey. Being her manager has felt less like steering and more like being a passenger alongside genuine genius. Her instincts are unparalleled and her creativity inspires me every meeting.
