the fear about losing a job is the fear of not being able to pay your bills in a monetary-driven society
one layer above we see the same fear about losing your status which is tied to skills that will soon become obsolete
as long as incentives don't catch up, people will exploit the old systems until every nook and cranny overflows with so much debris you won't ever find anything of substance
current ai makes it easy to produce work that up until now took years to learn and master
not because the people using ai lack the skill to produce more meaningful output
but because the incentives are still the same as in the old days
money
we're currently lost in limbo between a pre-ai and a post-agi world
all the anti-ai sentiment basically stems from an imbalance between current capabilities and societal progress
one of the symptoms of this is that 99% of what ai produces these days is pure slop
