Shinbone Alley (1970 - Dir: John David Wilson): A Cartoon Review - cartoon milk There was a cockroach who wanted to write, A cat who wanted to find joy, And a guy who wanted to watch a different film

hey howdy everyone, I wrote an animation blog for the first time in a bit, talking about the early 70s cartoon musical Shinbone Alley. Interesting film but I don't like it very much sadly cartoonmilk.com/shinbone-all...

Be careful playing this because sometimes the dialogue will randomly become super loud and jumpscare the hell out of you.

That's probably not even the worst technical issue with this thing!

also also, another @hg101.bsky.social article I did came up during the week, for Tequila & Boom Boom! It's an attractive-looking spaghetti western point-and-click adventure starring animal people, but it's sadly unfinished in a bunch of ways. One for the 90s furry adventure game fans, at least?

hey howdy everybody! I've got a new @hg101.bsky.social article up on the site today, looking at the spiritual successor to those cool Marble Blast games from the early 00s, Marble It Up! If you like momentum-based marble rolling with good tunes, here you go! www.hardcoregaming101.net/marble-it-up/

20 going on 30, by Jim McGrath 12 track album

Hullo howdy y'all! Today's my 30th birthday, and I decided to mark the occasion by putting out what turned out to be my 20th album of music! It was made rather quickly and hastily, but I hope there'll be something okay in it. Give it a listen! jimsjams.bandcamp.com/album/20-goi...

@spacecaptsteve.bsky.social Hullow howdy, I've been on a bit of a Ty the Tasmanian Tiger kick over the last month, playing a bunch of the games and reading the pretty awesome artbooks. Have you considered doing an artbook for Ty 3 and talking about its development?

The secret is out – my authorised biography of Sir Roy Clarke (Last of the Summer Wine, Keeping Up Appearances, Open All Hours) is to be published by Ten Acre Books in 2026. Getting to know Roy over the years has been a joy and it's a honour to be entrusted with telling his story. Watch this space.

Amiga 40th Anniversary Tribute Animation by Eric Schwartz YouTube video by feralstorm

lmao I'd love to see that out of morbid curiosity. Even if it's not by him, I'd have no issue believing it was considering his main body of work since the mid-90s has been the NSFW Sabrina Online.

I also discovered last night he did a 40th anni Amiga fan animation! www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7xG...

Hullo howdy again, my latest @hg101.bsky.social article is now up for everyone to read. Continuing the mascot platformer theme I've been mucking round with, it looks at MicroProse UK's decent though frustrating Tinhead for the Mega Drive (and technically SNES). www.hardcoregaming101.net/tinhead/

Very neat write-up on a vintage furry animation and how the creative process can be grueling at times.

I'm currently feeling the same way as Dougal right now.

Hey howdy, it's Bandcamp Friday so I might as well promote my music page. If there's anything there you like the sound of, maybe throw me a couple euros. (It's all free anyway, so no worries)

I'd happily recommend the albums FISH MUSIC, To You (Part 1?), and Doodles jimsjams.bandcamp.com

"WHAT A STUNNER

One of the best drawings yet received by us lot at MEAN MACHINES was sent in by the very talented Matt Lyon of Basingstoke, Hants. His stunning picture of Sonic the Hedgehog is a real eye-catcher. I'm sure we'll be seeing lots more stuff from this guy in the future - keep your eyes peeled."

shout out to this fucking rad bit of Sonic fan-art by Matt Lyon, adorning the pages of Mean Machines issue 10 (July of 1991, making this one of the earliest known pieces of Sonic fan-art)
