I wrote about the history of Cinecycle, now operated by @cfmdcfilm.bsky.social, for @thestar.com last summer www.thestar.com/entertainmen...

Honestly I think that's the best way. Doing that also helps you get away from the bad / good / guilt / guilt free dynamics that those wacky recipes usually play into.

It's also just completely abhorrent and deranged to be posting super-cuts. That should go without saying but that's not exactly the place we're at anymore is it?

John Wick. The movie about how unchecked grief, killing of an innocent life and violation of the last senses of connection and home spiral out into ever intensifying violence, destruction and death.
Kind of apt if you actually understand what bombing children does to society at large.

Tried the weather stripping & blanket and it didn't make a difference to my dog. I got a tension mounted baby to keep her away from the door and since she was intensely food motivated I could rattle a container of training treats and give her a few as a diversion tactic.

I've never watched GoT but just watched the Knight of the Seven Kingdoms series and I think I would've liked it a lot more if it had more depth of field. It's so damn flat and shallow looking.

Eric Veillette was kind enough to chat with me about this crazy little hobby of mine. You should all follow Eric's newsletter The Downtown Theatre for the kind of lore that's pure catnip to anyone interested in Toronto cinema history.

Did I continue to think Billy Corgan was cool? LMAOOOO no. That didn't make it past age 15.
I think any coolness he had came from James Iha and D'arcy tbqh.

I think the fact that those tapes were confiscated by my Dad for being "Satanic" just added to my sense that this was a cool band that made really cool music.

The Tonight, Tonight music vid had an outsized influence on me but also I was TEN YEARS OLD glued to the screen & clutching a borrowed Melancholy & the Infinite Sadness dual cassette in my grubby mitts. Somehow I don't think kids being enchanted by Silent Film was high up on a gov't list of issues.

"The CIA conspired to make me less cool than I was when I was 25" is the most succinct Gen X manifesto I've ever heard

Paramount’s Warner Bros. deal is a full-blown Hollywood inferno Viewers may find fewer choices - and fewer independent voices - on their screens if Paramount buys Warner Bros. Discovery

If the Netflix deal to swallow Warner Bros. felt like a five-alarm fire for the film industry, then the Paramount acquisition is a full-blown Hollywood inferno. If now isn't the time to panic, then when? www.theglobeandmail.com/culture/film...

Blind refugee abandoned by Border Patrol dies in Buffalo. A nearly blind refugee abandoned by Border Patrol miles from his home dies in Buffalo after having been missing for nearly a week.

This blind man - a refugee from Burma - was dropped off by Border Patrol at a Tim Horton's in Buffalo, NY.

In the middle of February.
A mile from a home where he no longer lived.
While his relatives were searching for him.

Cops found his body 5 days later

Lactose free milk is way cheaper there. Same with butter. Those are normal size containers too so you don't have to fight to store it either.

What do you think about jet skis on Toronto beaches? They've got an entire great lake to play in, and there aren't many places to swim. have your say

Here’s the thing about folks speedrunning the creative process with AI:

I could go to the beach every morning and put a grain of sand in a cup. They’d take their cup to the beach and fill it one day; but the point isn’t to have a cup of sand. It’s to fill my life with a thousand trips to the beach.
