Was really abrupt for me - no need for glasses at all until ~42 then found one evening that I couldn't read small print on a map in dim light. Hadn't noticed any issue until then. Distance vision still better than 6/6 but reading glasses are now essential.

For the same reason every hardware company invents it's own special port-shape for otherwise identical data/power connections.

It's not an awful film, but it's a fairly awful interpretation of the novel.

My wife and I always wondered why film adaptations of Heyer novels weren't a thing. Maybe this is why.

I'd still love to see a movie version of The Masqueraders. Or The Black Moth. Oh, or The Grand Sophy.

Same - but I was on a PC with a fixed camera not a phone / tablet so maneuvering myself to fill the 'put your face here' box was gymnastic performative art. Sadly no-one was watching.
