happy bandcamp friday places from my dreams out now
happy bandcamp friday places from my dreams out now
i do like playing as the ditto in pokopia though it's cute and if you crawl into a one block high tunnel instead of crouching down you turn back into a normal ditto which is awesome
no i agree with you but geometry dash players who read this gotta know
it is the express opinion of puzzmo dot com that rhythm games are cool except for geometry dash which is cringe
(it's not)
(i do not actually speak for puzzmo)
(for legal reasons this whole post is a joke)
puzzmo bsky integration is awesome because now anything unrelated i say has their name right on it as if i represent them, which isnt true but it makes my post seem Important
I made a crossword
Yeah PMD still involves a human but they make it really easy to ignore that part by never directly showing it :) I'd accept that if they did it again
Yeah it communicates to me that they're thinking oh the player character's gotta look like a pokemon trainer how could we possibly make an appealing game otherwise it's impossible the player character couldn't possibly just be a pokemon
maybe for most people yeah but *i* don't want to project myself onto a human-like character. i could play literally any other pokemon game if i wanted to do that
pokepark and pmd are the only proper story-driven series that have strong pokemon protagonists and they keep refusing to go back there
The last story-driven Pokemon game that properly, genuinely did not involve humans at all was Pokepark 2 Wonders Beyond and it has been SO long since then
Correct but a ditto that decides it has to *look* like a human, for,...... reasons? It suggests that they still think stories can't really be told unless there's a human involved in some way
pokopia makes me feel very conflicted because like. im probably gonna find it fun and the pokemon having dialogue is a huge plus. but its such cowardice that the main character can't just be one of the cool pokemon characters they invented and instead has to look like a person
i definitely still have friends who have stayed on twitter so i'm less quick to judge
i bet there's probably fans on bluesky it's just harder to come by organically because bluesky isn't made for that sort of discovery
i haven't seen traces of this pokopia fandom anywhere can you point me in the right direction
ok doing this before i see anyone else do it
pokopia is really not the kind of game that markets itself but god damn if i'm not going to enjoy the only game in recent memory where they haven't been scared to give the pokemon actual dialogue
hiya wildlyHandwaving is in this! i was sent videos of what the high difficulty chart for it looks like and it's so so bonkers
this is kinda the vibe i've been having too lol... january was awesome but february has been really anxious / exhausting
o yeah this is awesome
ya ugh. its like people are so results oriented and its like fine whatever but ive always cared how the thing is made not just what it is. ppl are saying oh ai models are rly good now they can be used well i promise!!! but that doesnt mean we're not seeing tons of slop made w it today. hard to trust
i've seen people say that "it starts actually being good" has already happened but i have yet to experience it despite my own experimentation. this could be an indictment on my ability to adapt but i also just care deeply about little details and ai use incentivizes me to gloss over them
my job is slowly trying to get me to think more about ai coding and honestly i dont want my career to end so my stance rn is that i will only use ai to code if it starts actually being good and outside of work i will not use it at all until ai use starts hurting people less
i got 44.53 on first attempt and i threw the last one
This a CAT checkpoint. Show me the most recent cat image on your phone.
this looks cool! i was specifically looking for something that visualizes what notes i'm pressing like on an interface of a piano keyboard. i think i ended up using synthesia (synthesiagame.com) for it, but i also had to install a midi router to have my keyboard input go to two programs at once
this bandcamp friday you could grab a copy of toy ruby that comes to life and walks out of your house wouldn't that be cool
onefin.bandcamp.com/album/toy-ru...
far from the first time something like this has happened in the industry but it never gets less devastating and cruel
speedran wrote this in a single afternoon for @ralpph.bsky.social 's global game jam game which is here: alex-huang.itch.io/tapestry
the art in the video comes from this!
masking tape doodle
it would for real actually
