I didn't grow up with .hack but I got digimon world 3 and mom says that's just as good

Digimon World 3 almost has that Dark Cloud 2 vibe where there's almost too much stuff to do and too much backtracking to the starting town, but DMW3 always felt more lived in to me since even the generic NPCs are representing real normal people from around the world all playing an MMO

The sense of design identity in this game is so strong

I like that despite taking place in an MMORPG the backgrounds are still imaginatively industrial like they could be functional (or even neccessary) machinery. This game seriously has my favorite pre-rendered backgrounds on the ps1 there's just nothing like them

Had digimon world 3 since I was 7 and got the first one a few years ago. Need to pick it back up!
