After a bachelor's degree at UW, he went to Denmark, completing his master's degree at the University of Copenhagen. He defended his PhD at the University of Bergen, Norway. He returned to Poland in 2024 on the Polish Return program NAWA Narodowa Agencja Wymiany Akademickiej

Dr. Ludwik Gąsiorowski from EMBO (Excellence in life sciences) received an #InstallationGrant from Wydział Biologii UW! Ludwik will create his own laboratory to study microscopic flatworms. This is the only "installation" grant in this edition for Poland! 🇵🇱 Congratulations! 🥳👏

In December, we took part in a #Phylogenomics workshop in Urwitałt for #C4inV4: improving collaboration in V4 countries to learn about cryptic #fungi. It was a fantastic team effort; we learned so much. Looking forward to next year!🍄

Research conducted at the Laboratory of Anthropocene Biology, led by Prof. Szulkin, focuses on the study of the evolution and ecology of organisms in the Anthropocene—an era dominated by human activity that exerts a significant global impact on Earth’s ecosystems.
The award recognizes her research that advances our understanding of evolutionary processes in complex urban environments, as well as the mechanisms by which animals adapt to city life - environments dynamically shaped by natural, social, and cultural factors.
