O hey, I realised I have a fire horse painting too!
Done as a cover commission for a book series, but this particular painting didn't end up getting used as the direction changed a bit and I made an alternative cover in the end. I still like it though!

The questions you have already posed are great!!!! I find it a drag for myself to respond, because it takes a lot of energy and it can be very frustrating, but the results are very rewarding and helps untangle the knots so I can keep on drawing without extra weight 🌸

If the goal is to have fun, then that means I am focusing on progress & play rather than results. Which has the ever so challenging question to respond: if it's for fun, then why y mad?
If the goal is clear, then I have clear instructions to follow & focus on how to achieve it.

Then I look at my work and if I haven't already, I try to decide what's the goal, or set one. Then I can have clear expectations and plan the next steps.
The goal can be anything, from "I just want to have fun" to something more specific like "I want it to have a dark vibe and cause x feeling"

Afterwards I write down *specifically* what it is that I hate/ I'm sad about, if I haven't already done that. Fun fact: 99% of the time it's not the artwork itself, but something else bothering me, usually a feeling, that I project onto the canvas.

Ooh, I know the feeling all too well..

What has helped me is first of all take distance the moment I start feeling frustrated (I fail most times to notice, but that's ok)
This can mean expressing my feelings in written form or use other outlets to calm down.
