imo playtesting should be in service of your vision, not deciding what the vision should be
Couple things here:
1. What the fuck
2. I am allllllmost more offended by the suggestion that I would give this shitbox edit than having my identity stolen
3. The CEO is scheduled to be on Decoder soon and we will see if they back out!

I'm gonna chalk this up to "Mike's gaydar barely functions," because I've managed to miss it with people I've known for over 30 years, and the more I think of it, the more implausible it feels that a man that pretty and that chaotic would be completely straight.
Who cares about a bad space show written by a sex pest when you could watch the anime that he ripped off to make it? Outlaw Star is 1000% pure uncut aura starring a chaotic bisexual and his crew of hot, murderous women youtu.be/q3gI-E_vqVA?...
Gene, bisexual? I donβt get the impression he ever had any OHHHHH RIGHT Fred. His arms dealing sugar daddy.
Yep nope I think youβre onto something.
Vibes and platforming, what else do you need?
doing everything you can to kneecap renewable energy development and then immediately launching an illegal war that threatens non-renewables and may result in a catastrophic increase in energy prices is the republican party in a nutshell
Sorry I'm not more open-minded about LLMs, it's just some fucking maniacs shoveled out a bunch of useless bloatware featuring that technology, did not give me any chance to opt out, reorganized the entire economy around it, zeroed out gains made by green energy, and made it impossible to buy RAM

I feel like Iβm in a burning building trying to figure out what to save.
For those who played the new Marathon and wished that it wasn't a PvP game:
If you love the new cyber-brainsmash aesthetic, play the Cicadamata demo immediately.

Belated? Itβs today. You are on time, sir.
A shitload of boxes of solid metal dice in various colors.
A close up of a box of dice. Itβs fancy and has a geometric shape on the cover.
A set of dice made out of titanium, including 4, 6, 8, 10, and 20-sided dice, plus two 10-sided dice to form a d100.
Time for another episode of βoh wow I backed the hell out of that Kickstarter didnβt Iβ
Fun fact, this is the last one I backed before the brain hemorrhage and the cancer. Didnβt know if Iβd live to receive it!
Stop making live-service games.
The market can't sustain their existence and employees don't withstand their failure.
Not every game can be a part-time job for players and most are already entrenched in an old favourite.
Congrats is indeed the appropriate and acceptable response. π Thank you, friend!
For ppl who aren't aware:
Old temperate forests are insanely rare nowadays and extremely important ecosystems lost forever once cut.
They're not just "old trees" but intricate networks of trees, fungi and all kinds of living creatures.
You CANNOT replant this!! Once it's gone it's lost FOREVER!!!
I currently have brain metastasized melanoma (skin cancer). The prognosis is classically a few days to a few weeks. I was diagnosed at the end of last June. Getting close to 9 months surviving and keeping this in stalemate. Treatment options are that much better than ten years ago!
the anime sfx-making tool! It's called ANIMEVOX, in big letters up top. Then there's the controls: In vertical pairs: Left: Pitch Rise Rise speed Reverb Room size On the right: Wobble Speed Wobble Amount Tone Brightness Volume Next is a row of keys: Randomize - randomizes the sound parameters UNDO/ REDO - go back to parameters you liked Export Wav - self explanatory, it saves a copy of the latest sound to your hard drive. Then the fun buttons, with cute art styles: IMPACT, sparkle, beam, powerUP, PON, BOOM, slash, woosh Each produces a preset sound, which then goes through the fx chain. Hope you enjoy it!
I made a tool that makes retro anime sound effects. Meet AnimeVox!
I made it for a game, but it's free to use.
I'm using the forgotten (but popular in 80s japan) Schroeder reverb algo, and some wobble.
If you find it useful consider supporting me on itch :)

It is VERY strange that the t's on the bottom are superimposed over the letters on the top, but the H is superimposed over the letters on the bottom.
God damn they skimped on the graphic design hard
NBD itβs just the first thing everyone will see of your brandβ¦
It feels like Dubai is and has always been a HUGE center of geopolitics? You canβt concentrate that much money in one spot and not have it be seismic.
This is exactly what it sounds like: a plan to implement tapering and discontinuation of HRT for any trans person in prison, regardless of how long they've been on it or what surgeries they've had.
This is medical torture, and will kill people.
Oh my god I got into my old DeviantArt account hahahahaha oh man it's been like 20 years.
... *checks*
It has been actually quite close to 20 years. That feels surreal.
Encouraging. A few things here that I didn't consider. The submarine analogy in particular.
Alright. Next time I'll do Wildsea, Mothership, and, what the heck, the Skydawn Phantasy Star TTRPG.
Wildsea isn't in space but you'll understand why I was interested.
Weirdly, though -- that actually fits Outlaw Star shockingly well. Just, ships in Outlaw Star have a lot of hull to bite through, and everyone moves VERY fast to avoid getting hit. I could actually see this working well with maybe one or two tweaks.
What's specifically interesting about Death in Space's take on ship combat is how much you REALLY do not want to be in it, though. I mean it with the submarine comparison. If you are fighting against another ship, it is a tense, high-stakes situation where you will eat vaccuum if things go bad.
A screenshot from the anime Outlaw Star. The Outlaw Star, a red ship with two grappler arms, gets into a grappler arm fist fight against the El Dorado (or is it the Shangri La?) in an asteroid field. The El Dorado is cheating and has four arms.
That's right, it took a bunch of Swedish guys riffing on 1970's space horror to FINALLY deliver the gear to be able to sock things in the face with grappler arms. Death in Space does what Starfindon't.
That was horrible and I apologize, but it is weird that Starfinder never added grappler arms.
Specific crew stations aren't a thing -- but your ship is a little ant farm full of functions, and each ship combat turn is assumed to be about 10 minutes. If I had to describe it, it feels mostly like submarine combat.
Except your ship can have FUCKIN GRAPPLER ARMS YOOOOOOOOOO
Star Trek power management is not much of a thing. Modules have power or don't, you have incentive to ensure they don't lose it. But equipment condition and fuel management is a BIG thing in Death in Space, so much so that repairing something gets you 1 XP per session.
