The BC Conservatives just voted for a bill to repeal BC's Human Rights Code .
Thankfully, the BC NDP voted down the bill 50-37. We will never back down in the fight against racism and to protect the rights and freedoms of all British Columbians โ๐ป

Budget 2026 builds on #taxfairness of the BC NDP. A working family of 4 pays $2,800 less tax today than under the BC Liberals while corporations and the top 1% contribute billions more. We increased credits for low income because we know the cost pressures they face. #bcpoli @bcndp.bsky.social

I understand your job is to criticize and push for more action, but it's important to be factual. Using my comments out of context like this is simply inaccurate. I suspect we can both agree that a BC conservative budget would be devastating for working people. 5/5
Because of our tax changes, a working family of 4 pays $2,800 less tax today than under the BC Liberals while corporations and the top 1% contribute billions more. 4/5
In 2017 we cancelled BC Liberal tax breaks for people in the top tax bracket and corporations, then used that money to hire thousands of teachers and healthcare workers, and lower taxes for working people. 3/5
Weโre increasing healthcare spending by $2.8 billion and K-12 education by $634 million over the next 3 years, while the BC conservatives have said they would cut them, and their track record is clear - I saw the harm first hand when the BC Liberals cut health care and education deeply. 2/5
