Do you ever look around the world and hear your heart ask, "where am I?"
@coherentvoid
Artist, scientist, wanderer. Grasping at dreams I refuse to abandon. Blindly pursuing classical animation without much in the way of rigid instruction or guidance. Sooner or later, it's all going to work out.
Do you ever look around the world and hear your heart ask, "where am I?"

Most of the internet has become a waste of time for artists. The algorithm has the attention span of a waffle iron.
Art needs to go in-person again.
So what if I did a collaboration with musician(s) and made a cartoon designed to be shown with live (improvisational) music?
Like how silent era cartoons needed a live pianist a century ago?
And people would come to the gig to watch the song cartoon?
I'm starting to see that this AI product suite is sort of the culmination of that system always having been the norm.
The intent is to deploy AI to make art-like things to control and exploit the people.
It's really just everything we were warned not to do.
Bespoke propaganda.
The news has custom graphics for war.
My bank, sending me emails to "support our troops."
I've seen this one before.
80's. 90's. 2000's.
The US has altered the way it chooses to control its people.
It is no longer profitable to ingratiate themselves to the citizenry. Cruelty is cheaper and easier. We have nothing they want, save obedience.
That's enough politics from me.
The system is like stellar fusion. Hydrogen is depleted.
All this talk of age verified O/S laws is driving me towards adopting offline tech and making me ask questions like, "what if I made all my animations on a 2000-era potato?"
And, "what if I just run this radar off a raspberry pi?"
And, "what if I finished that analog guitar pedal?"
This is a really good spread.
I woke up really want to make a toy line for some reason.
I don't have an idea for one. I just want to make a lil action figure with a pack-in comic.
I have this weird feeling that we are near a tipping point where it stops being worth it to even engage with the internet/tech companies at all.
Maybe it's just me, but I feel like it's time to just turn the internet off and let it sleep for a thousand years.
Thank you. I needed some encouragement this morning.
It's interesting how much of life is just oscillating in and out of consciousness.
Wake and sleep.
Day and night.
Summer, Dreaming, Winter, Tuesday.
It's all Light and Shadow.
I think I just had an epiphany about art.
It's about capturing a moment in life and experience and sharing it with others. (Not about all the technical minutia).
And I need a find a way to bring animation to people offline.
(Offline is also where AI can't come.)
Lots to think about.
Note: before and after going to the zoo to look at real peacocks.
Concepting sketches for the Peacock cartoon I'm making.
This is really great! Someday I'm going to try to get you to voice one of my toons.
These books by Terryl Whitlatch are great if you are looking to learn about designing creatures.
They really break down things across skeletons, muculature, and creativity.
(Whitlatch designed Sepulba in Star Wars I)
That peacocks exist - irridescent blue long necked serpent birds with bright green trains consiting if pink (look closely) shiny feathers -
- there must have been some truly crazy looking animals in eons past. So much humans will never know. So many life experiences we cannot comprehend.
I want to start making youtube videos but I'm afraid people will hate my face and voice.
Metroid Prime 4 has a lot of potential but this game is all o er the place.
Plus I keep thinking of other games I liked better. They borrowed a lot.
It really does seem like things aren't going to bounce back in the US.
Human civilization means living in a world defined either by the love or the psychosis of other people.
There's something sweet about realizing that the universal doesn't care about whether humans understand it.
That our knowledge is ephemeral and everything we know will die with us.
And new creatures will rise to experience everything. And we won't matter to them.
But we see it while we're here.
Seems like the internet is at major risk from the tech companies.
AI slop is replacing true information by design.
Three years time and we'll be meeting at a speakeasy, sharing excerpts from books. Encyclopedias even.
Weird things lurk in the dark recesses. There's more going on inside than we think.
At least you aren't waking mad at people who you dreamt of arguing with...
Being an animator means following a peacock around for an hour to get a closer look at how it folds its toes.
Peacocks make meow sounds. And cock a doodle doo. And theyll just scream at you for now reason.
Zoo.
Zoo to draw peacocks or stay home and work on animating my shots????
