It has been a long few weeks

It is amazing how effective one person saying “this is wrong” can be.

Especially for young people, when somebody they (sometimes literally) look up to says “this isn’t the way you should treat people” they hear it, and they internalize it.

I’ve said recently that this kid has difficulties that require special care and “cannot be helped with Kevin-sensei’s folksy bullshit”

But fuck that!

This kid does need more specialized care, but my “folksy bullshit” CAN and WILL help others to treat him with dignity and respect.

Manager: The other kids are mad because of how [that kid] acts

Me: [That kid] kid cannot help it. He is as his creator made him. The kids bullying him and the teachers allowing it are the problem. They have a choice of how to behave

Manager: “how his creator made him?”

Me: I said what I said!

One of my kindergartners has some pretty severe cognitive challenges and has been getting bullied by his classmates who are growing frustrated by his actions.

Manager: [The kid with cognitive difficulties] is so hard to deal with, no?

Me: The *problem* is that he’s being bullied.

I once bought a boxed Grand Maximus in Northern Kyushu while staggering, incredibly hung over, to a train station after passing out on my friend’s floor a few hours prior…but not before he introduced me to/forced me to watch the first three episodes of Urusei Yatsura upon regaining consciousness

Finished my Japanese taxes. Seems like the government worked all the bugs out of the e-tax filing system.

I had this whole rant about a problem, then I realized the answer: nationalize Amazon, integrate it into the post office, and make shipping free! With fees for faster shipping or something if you insist on stilling doing capitalism.
