It's a lovely picture. I love chickens. Polish included. Not wanting to rain on your parade. I wanted people to know the downside of the large feathered crest and how it can affect the birds ability to survive and cause the bird to live in fear.

I always kept the feathers around the birds face trimmed so they could see better even though the plumage was not as full. Better for the chickens "mental health" as they could detect threats easier. The frizzle gene occurs naturally, however, humans selectively breed them to produce a novelty.

Looks like the chicken is a "frizzled" Laced Polish Chicken. The frizzled part caused by a genetic mutation to cause their feathers to curl outward. They are generally very sweet and docile birds. However, because of their large crests which can block their vision they can be easily startled & timid
