Now that's a new way of #catfishing - play to the academic's vanity and grab them by their self-love ๐

Andreas Dettwiler giving his farewell
It was great to attend the valedictory lecture of @dettwiler.bsky.social
Thank you Andreas for everything you have done for the faculty (and beyond)!

Portrait of Franรงois Hotman in somber colors; he is wearing a white ruff and his right hand is placed on this torso, underneath a large black cape. The image features the name of the conference and of the lecturer, as well as the place and time. At the bottom of the image, a pink band with the mentions "Institut d'histoire de la Rรฉformation" and "Universitรฉ de Genรจve"

Looking forward to welcoming @jpowellmcnutt.bsky.social in Geneva in ten days!
Thanks for sharing widely

Bad news indeed. We will miss you excellent scholars coming abroad!

Really useful, thanks for creating this!! #earlymodern #skystorians
A G-rated impression from our recent PhD-Lunch: @jebbb.bsky.social presenting his research on #OriginalSin in #16thCentury exegetical debates, which we announced in such graphic detail that #bsky censored us (poor #Eve, but there is no such thing as prelapsarian fig leaves...)

Plutรดt @ihr-geneva.bsky.social - au plaisir de te voir!
Looking very much forward to listen to @julienleonard.bsky.social in Geneva!
The Swiss Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences (SAGW) readvertizes its portal on "Cultures and Societies": if you're interested in learning more about jobs, events and publications in the SSH (mainly, but not exclusively in a Swiss context), have a look at it: www.cult-soc.ch/en/cult-soc/ ๐๏ธ
I probably shouldn't like this ๐

Oh, sorry. In the common Late Medieval Latin translation of Aristotle, a woman is a "mas occasionatus" (a defective male). I thought you refer to that...
#earlymodern #skystorians
You "occasionally" get angry? Great wordplay ๐คญ

Lest selbst. #IchBinHanna
The most revealing part is the "bright, well-organized kitchen" I'd say ๐คญ
So the lesson to be learned is once again: buy a new phone.
Thanks, that's probably the reason. In addition, there are two different Shortcodes for this emoji, :card_file_box: and :card_box:, see emojipedia.org/card-file-bo...
Now that's fun. Here's how they look to me, and as a matter of fact, if I use the first one (the one of my phone's set), posts are not included in the โWhatโs Historyโ feed that collects posts with the second one
I've a problem with #emojis here on #bluesky: if I'm on the phone, I have to use the phone's set of emojis which are different from the standard bluesky ones (compare ๐ with ๐๏ธ). Some #feeds depend on the standard set, though, and posts written on the phone will not be loaded. Any #workaround?
I'm a bit confused about their opening statement:
"While historians have been able to digitize physical typewritten documents using [...] (OCR), handwriting, with its individual styles, has until recently resisted recognition by computers."
Aren't we doing this for more than a decade now? #dh ๐
