A 10 by 10 cm acrylic painting of a large white house in the Suffolk countryside. The painting has a end of summer feel/style and the sky has bright blue splashes and early evening pinks casting colour over the building

In an effort to post more that once every month(+/-) πhereβs a commissioned 60th birthday gift that Iβve just finished π€πΌthe recipient isnβt on socials. Acrylic on canvas board 10x10cm. #ArtYear #Suffolk #BritishCountryside #AcrylicPainting #Romantic #BlueSkyArt
A black on white ink drawing of a large tree in the foreground, to the left of a country track that winds back to the centre of the horizon. This is a drawing of a wooded area with rolling hills to each side of the track. The style is linear and high contrast in tones.
Iβm still working on my little sketch ideas. Hereβs the latest canvas board version thatβs still in progress.

Hey! Thanks Anna π As usual, I forget to post often anyway.
Here are some details from a larger acrylic painting of daisies #whistpr #ArtYear #Daisies
Sometimes my ALT text is way better than my actual post text π€·π»ββοΈ π
Itβs probably as Iβm way too sporadic with socials! π Thanks for the recommendation, Iβll check them out!
Thanks Anna! Iβll remember that for the future too! (Iβve scribbled it on my drawing board as my mind is like a sieve sometimes!) π
An image showing an open sketchbook. On the right hand page lays a small 10x10cm canvas board with a tonal black and white drawing/painting. There are a row of trees in the background standing in forestry ground. They are white against the gentle rolling land in the foreground.
And a closer look βοΈπ
Obviously I seem to shy away from the Internet, but Iβm still here, and Iβve just started using my sketchbook ideas for new projects. This is an ink drawing/painting on 10x10cm canvas board. Itβs inspired by my favourite walk from Dunwich to Walberswick in Suffolk. #BlueSkyArt #InkDrawing #Miniature
A colourful digital sketch using Procreate. Landscape in sizing, the palette is bottle green through to sandy reds and creams. The pine forest is ahead with a sandy path in the foreground. There are splashes of bright blue, white and grey as you glimpse the sky through the treetops.
We walked by the pine woods in Wells-Next-The-Sea and Holkham yesterday in North Norfolk. Hereβs a little Procreate sketch to mark the day! #ProcreateArtist #digitalsketch #NoAI #Springtime #NorthNorfolkCoastalPath #HolkhamEstate
Thanks Jilly!
A small acrylic painting, painted on a beer mat is sitting on a drawing board. The painting has a swirling blue and white sky above a blue and green sea lapping on a sandy shore.
Hereβs a little acrylic sketch I made last summer. Itβs on a blank beer mat and as I have hundreds more of these beer mats, maybe I should do more! This is a beach scene using reference from photos I took on Naxos. #BlueSkyMonday #artist #acrylicpainting #seascape #Greece #Naxos
I absolutely love them!
Audible on x2 speed? π¬
This ink drawing has lines of closely packed trees, a hill that slopes up to the right and a wide track sweeping towards you. Mostly stylised with patterns of stripes.
Hereβs one I finished earlier! It took a wildly different journey than Iβd anticipated and I love it. Itβs giving me a 1960s circus forest vibe π€£ #horrorcircus #stripes #thehousethatjackbuilt #studiopen #sketchbook #workinprogress #blueskyart
Beautiful! I absolutely love that blue!

An open sketchbook with 2 square sketches one above the other on the open page. Both drawings are black ink and of treescapes. The top picture is simple and linear and has the outline of 7 trees atop an undulating foreground. The bottom drawing has lines of closely packed trees, a hill that slopes up to the right and a wide track sweeping towards you.
Seems that Iβve swerved the Internet for a bit! Iβm still working on my tree sketches which will one day end up as reference for future projects. On this arty Friday, I wanted to share them midway through. I love the simplicity of the lines! #art #fridayinspiration #blueskyart #woodland #creator
This is really amazing! It looks like it βshould haveβ been the cover for βA Haunting on the Hillβ by Elizabeth Handβ¦ In my head it fits that story perfectly!
Thanks very much!
The right hand side of an open sketchbook shows 2 square illustrations on the page, one above the other. In the centre creases of the book there is a yellow book mark ribbon and an art studio pen. The illustrations are pen and ink and linear in a graphic style. They both depict images of trees and scrubland. The top picture being of a more dense forest scape with uneven sloping ground, the bottom picture being lighter in tone with many bright trunks packed in the forest. The ground slopes toward you with linear sweeping pen lines.
Hereβs another finished page of my treescapes. Each drawing seems to push my technique. So obviously Iβm looking forward to the next one! #art #illustration #sketchbook #artist #wip #penandink #woodland #britishcountryside #springequinox
Well, Iβll keep my fingers crossed for you! βΊοΈ
Good luck! Your drawing is pretty amazing btw!
Hey, thanks Anna! Iβve had another busy couple of weeks so Iβm pleased to have some peaceful time getting into my ideas sketchbook!
A photograph of an open sketch book with a square black and white ink drawing of trees and forest floor, there is a pattern of line marks that make up the drawing which provides a sense of uncomfortable perspective. There is another square below this drawing which is blank.
Iβm definitely leaning into my fascination of trees! Hereβs my latest 7x7cm ink square sketch. This is a reworked idea from a much larger pen and ink drawing I did a couple of years ago. Itβs good to feel the energy again, just like I felt in the first drawing. #art #blueskyartist #inkdrawing
I see what you mean but I went into these paintings without a more figurative view to aim more for recognisable colour and movement. I think parts of them are lovely and met my expectations so Iβll use those parts (that I think went as planned) in a future piece.
βοΈ Thank you again! I love that they may be helpful for others to also give it a try. My going back to a relatively tight sketchbook was to let me breathe for a bit, before they inspire me to move on! I agree the size and style is feeling pretty good!
I lived on Magdalen St for many years⦠this painting is beautiful!
An open sketchbook with two square ink drawings, one above the other. The top square is an illustration of a swirling body of water with light and dark fighting on the ripples. The bottom drawing is of a body of water next to a river bank walkway. The walkway has two dark leafless trees straddling the pathway.
Another inky square added⦠time to move on to the next one and turn the page. This image is inspired by a winter walk from Walberswick to Blythburgh in Suffolk. #Blueskyart #sketchbook #artist #Walberswick #Blythburgh
