One last trip to the mountain.
Friends. Today is the day. She's starting to have accidents, movement is more difficult, especially inside. I'm taking her up to the mountain one last time, and then the doctor is going to come to us. So she'll be outside, with her brothers for her final moments.
Give your dogs scritches for us.
And then it was just waiting to see how she does, make sure quality of life remained high, gave her lots of love and treats and scritches.
But we knew were on a clock now. And I wanted her to see snow one last time, cuz theres not a lot of that in Portland. And the weather didn't participate. Until a few weeks ago. We took her up to the mountain, and she had a blast.
Nobody knows what causes it, and most cases resolve themselves within a few weeks with no further impact. So we waited, gave her some sedatives so she didn't hurt herself. Dealt with the side effects from the sedatives. For the most part, she recovered well.
Friends. A few months ago Favs had what appeared to be a seizure. She was having trouble keeping her balance and her eyes weren't tracking. I immediately took her to the emergency Vet, where they diagnosed Geriatric Vestibular Disorder - basically she's dizzy cuz she's old.

I'm doing good, melting in Dallas rn. Favs is gettin old, but still enjoying going on walks, especially when it cools down a bit.
We went West, got Favs a new couch. She's not really a fan....
