The scene is still not without its issues, but I found the song quite fitting.
I think that the use of „We Can be Heroes“ was less about actual heroes in this story but more about the original setting of the song about two lovers in the separated Berlin.
Bowie later performed the song next to the wall where thousands gathered on the other side of the wall to listen.
