One of my favorite things is getting to tell friends who are new to NYC that the subway "stand clear of the closing doors please" voice is a trans woman named Bernie Wagenblast and she's amazing.
This reminds me more of Japanese culture and kintsugi. In general the respect for things. I also live in a consumerist society but sometimes see youtube videos of canadians or americans and find the callous buy-buy-buy shocking.
I don’t mind the idea of AI doing my dishes because that’s the stuff I want to be disrupted.
But it doesn’t have to look human to do this! Look at our little roombas. They do a good little job, and should they turn evil, and it would be hard for them to punch us in the face.
