saw it on this recommendation and knowing nothing else... did not expect that level of pathos, great stuff

there's also a rich history of states and quasistates having to push farmers into the money economy eg by requiring taxes to be paid in coin
by violence*
also to be clear I'm in favor of modern ag but i think it's important to get the history right :p
there are cases where it was, but many peasants were closed off from common farmland, chose to become vagabonds, and had to be forced by to become wage laborers. there's quite a lot of good history on this! your explanation might be read as a homo economicus explanation i believe is less supported.
also just learning about the klf, ty!
wait what
looks great! long as it's stable no one will look at the html/css :p
(cutting down the useless tree) oppyrtynity
(killing the goose that lays eggs instead of the one that doesn't) every opportunity a crisis
crisist, equal crisis, the land of crisis, crisis for all who work hard, job crises near you,

likewise! (preordered ages ago too if that's ok)
footnotes can be good for this! i had a half page about the etymology of "design space" in an engineering diss that one of my advisors loved and the rest politely ignored
with practice
this is making me realize my own distaste for the hate-read feels v social-classed, gonna be interesting untangling that
if the ghost is part of a noisy fog texture or glitch effect this could def be doable! will unfortunately look like chaff to people watching the stream, tuning that signal/noise would be an interesting aesthetic challenge
intentionally making details in the high frequencies of a reverse DCT
yeah i can imagine something using compression artefacts to destroy an outline in noise
oh absolutely. I see this as related to "concerned citizen" behaviour in unions, which frames membership as a right to critique without taking other action (not always a wrong thing to do, but similarly favors anti-solidarity).
"capitalism's precautionary principle" is an incredible way to put it, going to try and deploy that myself.
earworm: surely i won't regret eating 4-5 pounds of cilantro for dinner
cooking brain: ...chimichurri soup?
we must imagine sisyphus slap-happy
these two posts made me click the like button twice in rapid succession but with wildly different affect, a strange chord.
I try to use airline-provided movies as this; just queue up a ton of vaguely interesting ones and skip/"channel surf" until one makes me watch it.
in many materials it'd be slower than the (solar) terminator; if right on a message about a nice sunset could follow the sun around the world gathering "instant" relies.
Venus of WillenFord
maybe a bit of that public sublime
of knowing the world is yours
as much as its own and others',
yours as the past is its own, gone
as hills dimpled goosefleshed with grass
and moles of live oak are their own,
as the flowers of an onramp breathe
and grow blue as the absent sky.
there's a contemplation to the way
a train spins a hill, makes a temple
with it, centering it off-center
as its own perspective, also with
tents and towns it is easier
to imagine being there, of there,
from rails than from a highway:
good thing consume me came out early and beat the rush!
saw someone enjoying a fine dinner in it later... this may be where gamer chairs belong
