For purposes of this discussion I don't think it really matters whether the cost is imposed by the transit agency or the airport itself. The point is just that if it's that expensive to take transit to the airport, it encourages more people to drive, which is a bad outcome
yeah that's a particularly egregious example, but really it's true to some extent everywhere. DC's silver line to Dulles Airport is as high as $6.75, or taking the marc train from DC to BWI is $8 (or more if there are no marc trains running and you have to take Amtrak)
In Chicago they charge you more to take the train from OHare than any other station! It's $5 to enter at ord vs $2.50 at every other stop in the system
It should cost at least as much to take a car to the airport as it does to take transit! Maybe this would cut down on the chaos and stress surrounding the car pickup lanes at every single airport i have ever been to

I am glad they are doing this but the interactive sample ballot you can fill out on their website (vr.dcboe.org/253434754272...) doesn't tell you if your ballot was valid or not! Seems like that should be the whole point of having a sample like this.
god these are always so sad and depressing. any time you see kids forced to wave a flag so they don't get run over by cars, your streets are doing something seriously wrong. A flag like this says "I don't want people to be killed by cars...but I'm not willing to do anything to slow those cars down"
OK, well I have no opinion about this change, but I do suspect it will be less effective than you think. You wrote that the problem comes from car commuters parking in the neighborhood and going to their offices -- aren't they already breaking the 2 hour limit in that case?
Is this basically saying that most streeets have green signs (2 hour parking for visitors unless they have a guest pass) and you want to replace half of the with red signs (no parking for visitors unless they have a guest pass) ?

I think it's time for the Council to consider a second expulsion vote for Councilmember White. I'm sure they were hoping to avoid it with a quick trial but another seven months is too long for him to be on the council when there's extremely credible evidence that he is corrupt.

The app of course becomes useless because it will say a station has a certain number of docks free but then none are actually usable. For each trip I took I had to visit multiple stations before I could actually end my ride.
