Thanks for letting me know. I look forward to reading it!
Just a mini #MSWL since spooky season is in full swing: I would LOVE to see more horror in my inbox! The weirder, the better! I especially enjoy horror that offers a conscious exploration of cultural issues or as a window to identity. Slasher for slasher's sake isn't quite for me, but otherwise HMU!
I've just cracked 40 books read this year (not counting clients' manuscript or full requests I've made from queries). This is the most I've been able to read since undergrad, and it has felt fantastic. At least 30 have been audio. Listening to audiobooks is reading.
Hi Esker! I saw your email too. No worries at all. You can email your pitch to me directly. I look forward to reading!
As a longtime TTRPGer, this sounds fantastic! I would love to read a sample! Submission instructions are pinned to my page.
Looking forward to everyoneβs #QuestPit posts today! If I like you post, Iβd love to receive the first 20 pgs of your ms at: QueryTracker.net/query/jaredj...
Update: I'm building my list in New Adult and Adult Fiction, with a focus on Literary and Speculative Fiction. Iβm especially interested in representing Latino/Hispanic, LGBTQ+, African-American, and Asian American writers. Please follow the submission guidelines before submitting. #MSWL #queries
The best editing partner. Sheβs a tough critic, but she takes payment in head scratches.
Love seeing clientsβ books out in the wild!
From the outside, the publishing deal can seem like a simple thingβyou write the book; you sell the bookβbut at all turns itβs a highly iterative labor of love. Erin has a unique talent for that iterative process. Iβve been thrilled to see her writing in the world.
Feels great to be back!
Perhaps an extremely hot take: Severance S2 really fumbled the plot in the second half of the season, but especially in the finale. Where are we supposed to go from here?
In case you didnβt know, April 26 is Independent Bookstore Day. This year, as Amazon decides to run steep book sales on the same day, itβs critical to support the shops that are an active and integral part of our communities. #BookSky #IndependentBookstoreDay

Calm down, Lori. People will think youβre desperate.
Is it a Millennial inevitability that I become obsessed with birding, or do I have a say in the matter?
I came across this pirate queen in Ireland who ruled the seas off the coast and later married a colonel. I keep imagining them as former work rivals turned lovers. And now I need someone to write this book! π
Hey, thatβs me!
There's something viscerally exciting about being so sucked into a manuscript that I lose track of time reading. It makes me feel like I'm back in school, pretending to be sick so I can stay home and read. (If my mother sees this, no you didn't.)
Sorry for any confusion, Alexandra! You can submit through QueryManager. You can find on the Contact page on my website or through this link: querymanager.com/jaredjohnson
Hello everyone, and thanks to @manuscriptwishlist.bsky.social for organizing #mswl day!
I'm always on the lookout for both fiction and nonfiction projects. You can find a full breakdown of what I'm currently looking for here: www.jaredhjohnson.com/submissions
I'm not sure why it took me so long to read "Ninth House", but I thought Bardugo does a great job of building suspense in a story that remains fairly low stakes. No world-ending catastrophe to avert, just a local murder mystery. #BookSky
Iβve finally joined Blue Sky! Iβm a literary agent with Olswanger Lit with a focus on both adult nonfiction and fiction books. Check out my manuscript wishlist here to see if your writing would be a good fit:
