What about a twist where you add a 2nd lock of some kind and then have someone else hold the 2nd lock's key. So it would take 2 keys to unlock and they're held by different holders so even iif Declan felt sorry and wanted to unlock Zach, the other keyholder would be needed too. 2 keys needed :)
