For the latest Time cover story titled "Trump's War," which was published on Thursday, March 5, correspondent Eric Cortellessa questioned Trump about the details of the unfolding war with Iran. In a pointed moment, he was asked whether it's reasonable for Americans to have concerns about being attacked at home.
"I guess," Trump, 79, responded. "But I think they're worried about that all the time. We think about it all the time. We plan for it. But yeah, you know, we expect some things." "Like I said, some people will die," the president added. "When you go to war, some people will die."
just zero sense of βother people existβ whatsoever
They think that the FM 3-24 population-centric COIN of the GWOT-era was designed out of concern for the affected populations. Which is ironic because it was rooted in British and French imperial attempts to preserve their colonies and had nothing to do with concern for the people.
They genuinely believe the reason Iraq and Afghanistan were disasters was because of woke
Max Boot is like βidk, the justification for this war looks pretty flimsy.β This is the most unsold war in the history of wars. That is like Cat Fancy calling a cat less than mid.
This war is dumb and illegal
As a professional military strategist, I just wanted to make sure everyone has a full understanding of the American strategy in Iran, thank you for your attention to this matter
But the Trump administration's own national security documents told me that regime change was no longer a foreign policy goal and that the Middle East would receive much less priority than before. www.bbc.com/news/article...
"No new wars" really just meant "f*ck Ukraine" and everyone knew it.
genuinely kinda insane to go for a reigme change war *after* the mass protests that rocked the country were put down
They beat a blind refugee who speaks no English for failing to obey police commands he could not understand. Then instead of apologizing, they charged him with possession of a βweaponββHIS WALKING STICK. Then they dumped him miles from home without notifying anyone, after which he was found dead.
Trans issues one of those things where in theory itβs a tricky area with a lot of grey areas and nuances and in practice itβs just this shit. Why youβre a sucker if you actually get involved in parsing the specifics of like JV soccer league rules.
This has nothing to do with fraud.
The agents Trump allegedly sent to investigate fraud are shooting protesters and arresting children. His DOJ is gutting the U.S. Attorneyβs Office and crippling their ability to prosecute fraud. And every week Trump pardons another fraudster.
these people treat being called racist like it is a slur, and treat slurs like they're mere differences of opinion
Exactly this.
Itβs the first time the US menβs and womenβs hockey teams have won gold in the same Olympics π₯π₯
Look I think we are at world historical levels of you never have to take Tyler Austin Harper, Sam Moyn, Sam Haselby, Dan Bessner, Daniel Steinmetz-Jenkins, et all seriously again.
Few things grind my gears quite as much as these fucking illiterates invoking βWestern Civilization,β of which they are obviously and comically ignorant, as a euphemism for white supremacy.
βFalse herringβ is stupid, but the most dishonest & manipulative word here is βnow.β As if this is some novelty. But warrants for entering homes, like cops who show their faces & badges, is how weβve done things for 250 years. The radical novelty is suggesting we STOP doing these things.
Just misinterpret Clausewitz one more time bro
I think itβs awesome how cabinet secretaries take orders from anon randos on the internet
Oh, okay. I'll bite.
The right to vote is enshrined in the Constitution.
The "right" of armed federal cops to arrest, beat, and kill people with anonymity is not.
"English-Scotts-Irish" doing a lot of work in a "Judeo Christian" sort of way...
Utterly unacceptable in a democracy. In a sane world, House Republicans would be drafting impeachment articles today and Senate Republicans would be preparing for a trial to convict and remove him from office
Iβve known like a thousand of this dude and from my anecdotal experience if people like this are joining protests of Republican governments and tearing up on camera, we are absolutely the fuck going to win.
There's a group of self-proclaimed "restrainers" out there (on the other site) who seem more upset by AOC saying "rules-based order" or being critical of Russian imperialism than they are by Trump administration efforts to take over Greenland.
I find this irritating.
Vaguely recall how Biden admin emails to Twitter were the biggest attack on free speech ever. There was a whole twitter files thing about that.
Curious where are Elon, Taibbi, Bari and crew on this?
It's going to be wild when Paxton gets the GOP nomination in Texas, loses in the general, and the Dems miraculously grab a 51-49 lead in the Senate in November . . .
. . . and then Fetterman switches parties in December.
