What he's calling "shut down" is people calmly and clearly pointing out the actual numbers which disprove the point he made.

That's not being shut down, that's being corrected. And I guess that doesn't feel nice but it's not you being "shut down". It's just actual facts.

He said what he said on national TV and in national newspapers. That's the opposite of shut down, that's actively amplified. He wasn't shut down, he was broadcasted.

What he's calling "shut down" is people responding to what he said, which most of us did not have the same national platform to do.
