The Indigenous People of North America have decided to go back to calling the Gulf of Mexico, “Chalchiuhtlicueyecatl”. It is what the Nahuatl People originally called it as it is the domain of the goddess Chalchiuhtlicue, who is assoc w/water bodies, including the Gulf of Mexico.
I can’t express how refreshing this is, and I cannot wait to watch it.

I'm so glad I created a profile today so I could see this - this is exactly where I'm at and it's been BRUTAL. Like the most startling gut-punch, but also, I've always known I was going to have to face it someday. And like, everything is on the line. So it's go time. And I have a lot of feelings.
