Sentimental Value, by Hania Rani 10 track album

A movie that works like therapy.
Hania Rani (Poland) nailed it with the score.
To listen after reading the news. Very recommended.

Bipolar Explorer "Holy sonic icons. There is hauntology. Hauntology right in the center of their work."-Max Reinhardt (BBC 3/Soho Radio) "Magical & majestic." -Indiemusic (France). "Great, beautiful drifty-pop filled with sadness & wonder" -Irene Trudel (WFMU) "Mysterious. Otherworldly.” - Carson Street, KFJC NYC-based experimental dreampop trio of Summer Serafin, Michael Serafin-Wells & Sylvia Solanas.

Feverishly at work on our 13th Bipolar Explorer album just now, I looked up to see that today is actually Bandcamp Friday - a perfect time, if you're new to our work or even longtime friends, to grab a CD, a download or even a new tee from our page (link below). bipolarexplorer.bandcamp.com

“Fruit Exports”, a small label based in Vietnam, has added “Paisaiak ‘22” to their catalogue. It’s the second album I get released via “Fruit Exports”, after a collaboration with Matthew Nowik was published in January.

“Paisaiak ‘22” is the most personal and raw set of music I’ve ever released. It was recorded during a dark night of the soul, in Summer of 2022, on the move, at night, under an alcoholic stupor.

Post-Covid depression, the notion that the world before 2020 was not coming back, the internalization and acceptance of some personal losses during the pandemic, were vomited into a 4-track Zoom recorder during a 2-week period.

This album was created using the elements you see in the photo.

It’s an honour to have it released through “Fruit Experts” among other insanely talented musicians: some are Vietnamese locals, some from other countries. You can find minimal instrumentals, folklore, experimental, ambient and everything in the middle of those.

It’s also a breath of fresh air to have it released in a country outside of the morally bankrupt “West”.

And it’s endearing to have met its owner. I know him enough to know he’s a fine and honest person, a true gentleman and a funny af pal. Kudos to you, Nguyen!

IMPORTANT: if you are a US citizen, do not take it personal that I'm venting about your country on social media. I know most of you are decent people and I do appreciate you from the bottom of my heart.

Specially, all my sympathy to all of you living in the USA, the Heart of the Beast, that are oppressed because of your identity, ethnicity or condition, all of you deemed as "losers", all of you hispanic bros and sis who are persecuted by the latest incarnation of Gestapo.

One day the wretched of the world will be set free.

Until then. down with fascism, down with the criminal empire of the USA, down with Zionism.

A cabalgar, a cabalgar hasta enterrarlos en la mar,

Porous Collective First an archive of Michigan improvisers, now a metaphor for the many/others that is the self. Lalén, Caeiro and Xeno are heteronyms, in Pessoa’s sense. Their vocation is electroacoustic, experimental, improvisation. Sound art that sometimes lies beyond what some call music. Ultimately, the fundamental work behind these recordings is to precariously ground unground existence in the doing. Peace.

It’s Bandcamp Friday so I’m just going to leave this here.

Friendly reminder...

Engagement is not an indicator of the quality of your work. It's an indicator of whether a tech firm feels like they can make money or not off the back of your art.

That's the healthiest approach. But I'm gonna need to calm myself down and refind my center before getting back to music affairs. Perhaps taking sometime offline to not over-vent much.
Thanks man, you're a really nice dude.

10 years from now, after 100 thousands deaths, millions of refugees, a huge economic crisis, etc we will be served a Hollywood movie about how much the US soldiers suffered in the war. The poor things.
With an inclusive cast because we are not total bigots, you see.
Fuck your country really.

I'm happy to share a new project – The Golden Age of Community Radio. It's a directory of awe-inspiring stations across the world that I discovered while promoting an album last year. It's also a resource for other musicians wanting to find new places to send their music. radio.surfacepressure.net

Understanding one of the world's oldest civilizations can't be achieved through a single film or book. But recent works of literature, journalism, music and film by Iranians are a powerful starting point. Clockwise from top left: The Seed of the Sacred Fig, For The Sun After Long Nights, Cutting Through Rocks, It Was Just an Accident, Martyr!, and Kayhan Kalhor.

"These suggestions are just a starting point, of course — with an emphasis on recent works made by Iranians themselves, rather than by outsiders looking in."

I feel I’m making love to a photograph: the best of Robyn Hitchcock 1979-1993 As much as The Railway Chldren, Michael Penn, and Midnight Oil number ones define the Poppy Bush Interzone of college radio hits, Robyn Hitchcock’s consistent popularity proves a easy marker.

A master of post-sixties anthropomorphism leavened by twelve-string hooks, Robyn Hitchcock provided an acid-drenched sensibility without the damage. Those hits with the Egyptians help define the Poppy Bush Interzone. humanizingthevacuum.wordpress.com/2017/09/07/i...

Newcastle pubs ban AI art from breweries to protect local creatives As two pubs in Newcastle ban AI art, artists discuss the impact it can have on creatives.

"If I was to use ChatGPT for my designs rather than our designer Sean, that's taking money out of the local area into the hands of a multibillionaire ... removing value from the local community and local artists [and] into the hands of some of the richest people in the world."
