Iβm trying to suppress those yearnings with a reframe: Iβve only got two days left to read through marathon.bungie.org/story/ again

if Iβm working for a soulless megacorp in MARATHON why havenβt any of them talked to me about KPIs yet
environmental narrative is BACK and I can't read it because I'm too paranoid I'm about to get shot
Have I become... an extraction sicko?
Really digging the class design in Marathon. Triage, Assassin, and Recon are all really solid team comp options. All of my steamroller runs have been with an Assassin carrying the entire team, reminded me a lot of Hunter/Omnioculus builds.
As someone whoβll be LFG queuing for most of open weekend this feels like both a hell yeah (game good) and oh no (Iβm going to be eaten alive) in equal measures
Got a new phone case so now I can pretend I took an art history class at some point in my life
Marty Supreme is just ping pong Uncut Gems and honestly Iβm fine with that
Now that Iβm 40 I really need to develop a slightly but not too quirky hobby in order to prepare myself to metamorphose into a Murakami protagonist. Maybe rehearse a monologue that I can repeat soulfully to a stranger at a hotel bar too, idk
I have a relatively pristine copy of this sitting on the shelf, and every time I look over at this cover it makes me smile. Jumping Flash rules so hard
Everybody on Team Australia could be a Street Fighter 6 playable character if they just amped up their outfits a little
MY HUSBAND: What are you going to do while I'm gone this week? Watch one of those Claude Chabrol movies from that box set, or that Tarkovsky you got?
ME: Oh, yeah, probably...
ME, 24 HOURS LATER, WATCHING 'PHYSICAL: ASIA': You're up against Eddie in the bag toss? You poor bastard. You're fucked.
Hi yes hello I would like *more* directors to reference Jarmanβs set design for The Devils, but more explicitly. Give me that theatrical modernism as juxtaposition to the understood gothic elements of the setting. Bonus points if its 70s retro modernism.
β¦ plus the weekend scents π
the face / the summer scent / the winter scent
Skeletor in a green hood is apparently in this game
DARK ARMS: BEAST BUSTER 1999
NOISE FACTORY 1999
(Captured on Neo Geo Pocket Color)
Like yes I am old now but read the room. The man listening to βanalog synthesizer sounds for the afternoonβ is not going to click through on a βPERFECT POOPS?!?β ad
YouTube has recently decided that it REALLY wants to show me some kind of SEO slop ads about gut health, so Iβm now consistently getting placements shouting about poop in front of the chill ambient sets Iβm trying to play
The future is so aggressively dumb
Snickers bar and a metal whistle
Parents, please check your kidsβ candy this Halloween. Iβve just found an ancient metal whistle with the inscription βQUIS EST ISTE QUI VENIT" inside a Snickers bar. I blew it and heard a note of infinite distance, and now Iβm haunted by a figure in pale, fluttering draperies. Be safe.
Yeah, the nature of all these limited run releases. Thereβs always YouTube rips in the meantime though
I actually still havenβt watched Re-Animator! Holding out for the new 4k on that one
Unfortunately no - although I did manage to snag the SNATCHER soundtrack, so at least adjacent to it
Also, taking screencaps for this, was really struck by how much Blatty loved telling a story with set dressing. So many shots lingering over a desk or a wall or an ashtray while someone talks. Feels kind of writerly, but in a way that I actually really dig.
Exorcist 3 absolutely rips. It's got its rough edges (Kinderman's dream, the pacing) but it's also got some great heights (the hallway sequence, the visuals, the carp!). I feel like I've been seeing people bite the visuals in this for years and years, even excluding Clock Tower.
On the plus side though I got a copy of Siren for a reasonable price so Iβm set for Halloween gaming π
The FMV games exhibit at the retro gaming con had the same MYST hat I was wearing on display in the exhibit. Gonna crumble into old old dust brb
Between this and Dolls, I'm really having a very Stuart Gordon Halloween. Can't believe I slept on this guy for so long, excited to have a new genre guy's filmography to hyperfixate on.
Watched From Beyond for the first time - truly the single goopiest movie I've ever seen. So much slime, blood, ooze, and goop in every scene. The gelatin budget on this thing must've been *insane*. A little Hellraiser, a little Prince of Darkness, a whole lot Looney Tunes.
Right now, Iβm really enjoying the new Geese album, which has a really strong back half. Half Real through to Long Island City, Here I Come is going to be hard to top in terms of best-of-the-year list material for me
Finally arrived at that brief window where I can comfortably wear a nice wool jacket outside
