Voters are demanding bold leadership on issues like economic justice, immigrant justice, climate action, and affordable housing. If Sherrill wants to build a winning coalition, she must engage with and listen to the communities that powered these progressive campaigns.
Mikie Sherrill may have won the primary election but one thing is clear: if she hopes to win in November, she must take the progressive base seriously. The results show that the progressive vote was split—Ras Baraka and Steven Fulop each drew significant support, sending a strong message.
Mass detention is a cruel, inhumane/broken system that devastates our communities. These cages are the backbone of Trump’s mass deportation agenda, and we cannot be complicit and stay silent. In 2021, New Jersey drew a hard line: detention centers are not welcome here. #shutthemdown
