I have been using random #2 pencils since I started - mostly because I wanted to be using the absolutely most easily accessible materials.

But I am thinking using some good materials might make me focus a bit more on craft vs. showing up.

Oh cool! I have seen a lot of people making Hackwings - I'm new to the whole thing - what would you say is the real draw of Blackwings and Hackwings?

...I do have an actual lead holder... XD

I use a pencil extension when my pencils get small, but when they are that size, I use them for rough sketching or big format - just plain easier to isolate to the elbow or wrist when you can't hold it properly. XD
