I know, they're so arrogant! But I can kind of see where they're coming from. "Just the Bible" means the Protestant Bible. As I'm sure you know, the Catholic Bible is different, and you guys have the Catechism, Papal authority, Saints, all that extra jazz :)
He really shouldn't have said this. It's some nice new age woo, but Yahweh is unambiguously male-coded in the Bible.
That's Catholic dogma though. American Evangelicals don't think Catholics are even Christian. Biblically, Yahweh is very male coded in the text so I can see why the nonbinary statement would piss them off.
