The scientific process has trained us to come up with alternative methods and approaches in case something doesn't work....so I guess we're using that thinking habit as a coping mechanism right now lol.

Same. I'm making backup plans to get certificates in something else in case science is canceled, budgeting plans to survive on only my husband's income in case women are no longer allowed to work, immigration plans in case America implodes.....
