The big problem with it is that the schedule published ( www.ncn-festival.de/programm/run... ) has no end times. The system guesses them

So, I have a new Macbook and I have been enjoying using AirPlay to stream music to my telly. Hooray. Except that it goes via my Sky Q box. And for some years Sky Q boxes freeze at random when being an AirPlay speaker..... as mine did again today. Argh. So I wont be trying that again in a hurry.
Not tested this but I trust both @lproven.bsky.social and @cstross.wandering.shop.ap.brid.gy
How you might stay on Windows 10.
Did you know I am doing a lightning talk @devoxx.uk in May? Yeah - I know - you can only stand me talking for about five minutes anyway. Topic is Data Platforms - they aren't optional. Or some version of those words in some kind of order.

I know, trivial right. My Sky Q box iPlayer app doesn't always sync what I have already watched with what I have seen on my laptop using the same BBC account. Just trying to chill and avoid the world.
I just use SSH when doing this. Is it because you need to access the gui of containerised apps?
Is it just me or has PGTips ruined their tea flavour by trying to make a quicker brew than their old pyramid bags? I didn't need them faster. Now I am looking for better tasting tea. Maybe it was a bad box somehow.

Lee Child has appeared recently on British news programs otherwise I wouldn't have known

After years of wearing tech and SF related tshirts I now normally only buy plain black or plain white. The exception being when I see something great in Primark.
Same info from a different source... nypost.com/2025/02/26/e...
Sad to hear of Michelle Trachtenberg's passing. www.independent.co.uk/arts-enterta...

Advert stating Kids Woodford green No messing around, please pick up today or tomorrow
Seen in my local Freegle group ... seems a bit harsh. Aren't there adoption agencies?

So today I have been building a TIE Fighter with #Lego bricks I had on my collection. It is based on set 9492 but had bits missing. #AFOL #StarWars
A big thanks to The AA (UK's Automobile Association) who helped me out quickly yesterday. A silly electrical problem diagnosed and reset. Obviously he could not replace the part - but I got home safely and can go to my garage.
(I have a temperature sensor playing up on the motorway)
This is very important.
It took three attempts to install 6.3.something
Conclusion: don't assume that all software will automatically update. It may take several minutes to update manually. 2/2
Chums - a little tip. Always join your first meeting of the day a few minutes before the start time. The software used by Zoom and Teams etc seems to change very often and doesn't like backwards compatibility. This morning I joined a Zoom meeting to be told I actually needed a later version. 1/2
I don't think there are any rules about what a university was originally named after. I went to Imperial College - I don't think we actually have an Empire any more.
Another feature of living under authoritarianism is that records would be erased at an alarming rate, while most of us are too overwhelmed by explicit repression to even notice.
Think of any materials you find valuable that are publicly available now. Back them up.
I just used an address lookup on a website and it told me I lived in Middlesex. This is especially funny because Middlesex hasn't existed since BEFORE THE WORLD WIDE WEB WAS INVENTED
