anyway; i am very interesting and cool and shout into the social-media void when i don't have anyone to talk to about things.
... i should have done ASAP morning gym instead of this ...
(here's an an example test suite in the case that anyone reading this really needs a WIP-grade stb-like virtual file system codeberg.org/paintgoblin/...)
after spending the AM renaming a virtual file system from "rfys" (a temp name) to "qfys" (a play on the fact it's likely smaller and more granular than PhysicsFS) ... i started on a feature and ... noticed that the name sounds confusingly like some sort of "Qt File System" ... ohnoes ...

BRB - i'm going to open a £4 bottle of wine and spend the evening on the couch weeping and watching the rest of Stranger Things
My TV has some power saving feature where if you don't change the channel or adjust the volume for two hours it turns off.
Today I found that feature in the menu (and verified that the TV indeed expects you to keep typing every few hours)
I am not crazy and today was a good day

The TrueMetallic Metal paints ... were not fun. Not sure why. I'm using my wet pallet so maybe that's it? #miniPainting
"you can delete a remote git branch without making a local repository by running the following command from a computer where you have a local copy of the repository"
(ai will never take my job ... but someone sure AF will decide it can be done by ai)

My love affair with ScaleColour continues into their pthalo green (which by any other name is just as sweet and is) shown here in an intentionally badly framed shot of the WIP
taco tuesday is tomorrow?
is it mexican food monday?
(thank you!!!)
they NEVER look the way i imagined
... which is why "letting paint dry" is important; it means i forget what i was hoping for :D
(IIRC; .wad stores textures as in three+ different ways. walls were the most confusing - vertical strips of texels that were super quick to lookup and copy into the framebuffer)
... ohh ... ooh! hey that's NEAT! they store it primarily as a plane because that's the form they need!

reading some stuff about quake's .map format (on my lunch break)
i think that it put me to panic/sleep decades ago ... but ... now? knowing that the data-structures in the file are used as the absolute truth for constructing a BSP tree (rather than a normal 3d model)
I want to say "Tsurani" but I didn't know if that's a faux pas 😍

I suppose I'm happy with the hair ...
I feel like there should be a German phrase/saying/parable for "until pigs fly, we don't need to keep them off the roof" or "Until such time as the world ends, we will act as though it intends to spin on."
So ... it's saying "don't do the thing" because "while there's noting broken now, if something breaks in the future there will be a bug" right?

Weird ... the mall cops can throw you out but can't take a cent from the register or your wallet when you checkout
👀
... also; forgejo mirrors to codeberg flawlessly if you ...
- 1 - create {personal auth token} for {your user} with writes and stuff
- 2 - set the forgejo mirror to codeberg.org/%7Bowner%7D/...
(... and make sure it's on-push!)
For Some Reason (TM) TheInternet(gpt) insisted this wouldn't work?
there was a Simpsons' bit about this wasn't there?
Today's "lilWin" is ... passing these unit tests proving that I have a C/++ library/header to "properly" allocate C/++ objects in #DukTape

... ohh ... this is just SQL ...
... i've been reinventing SQL ... i don't have to finish this ...
an error in a python program because i tried to use scala3's syntax
... and today on "errors i should have defeated much quicker" ...

I asked ai - I guess that it wouldn't work for incoming connections quite right
It spat out a blob of nonsense including references to sshuttle which ... does exactly this ...
github.com/sshuttle/ssh...
I'm always surprised that there's no zero configuration VPN client out there that just works by launching a blob of python or bash across an ssh connection on the server ... rather than the usual/conventional server setup that seems to flake out silently after a week
...and the FREE mini of them month this weekend is one of those lilGuys ...
