The Sunday Post ran an exclusive on the toolkit I’m developing to support people with intellectual difficulties to access cancer screening.
We’ll see if any other media pick up the press release over the next couple of days before graduation. Excited it’s getting out there! 😊
Thanks Steph! ☺️
Thank you! 😊

OFFICIALLY DR WHITE! 🥳🎉
So pleased (and relieved!) that I passed my Viva earlier today with minor amendments! After over 9 years of study, I’m finally going to be a Health Psychologist!
So grateful to the ProfDoc team at the University of Stirling for all their support over the past 3+ years ☺️
Excited to hear I have been successful in this competition! This relates to a resource/product idea I had following on from my research, to support those with intellectual disabilities to feel able to attend cancer screening and to engage in decision-making around their health 🧡Will share more soon!

Thanks Stephanie! 😊
Thanks Louise! It was on improving cervical cancer screening accessibility for those with intellectual disabilities, with a focus on the potential acceptability of HPV self-sampling 😊
After 3 years of the Professional Doctorate and over 1 year of my research project, my thesis is officially SUBMITTED!! 🥳🎉💫
Now to prepare for my Viva in April 😅
Grateful to receive an acknowledgment in this paper, evaluating email peer support (SharED) for young people with eating disorders. I worked on this (and suggested the name 😂) at Beat, in partnership w/the NHS, a few years ago. A valuable and rewarding project 🧡

Recently had to put together a case study for Masters students of my doctoral journey. Thought it could be useful to share here in case anyone was interested in the Professional Doctorate in Health Psychology!
Also highlights the differences from a PhD, with other competencies as well as research 😂
That’s a really good point. There’s a lot of emphasis on independent study & seeking out this info as a student. But it’s impossible to know where to start with little guidance (& impossible to know everything!). It would be great if there was more teaching on engaging with stakeholders, as you say!
I hadn’t looked at it like that, but that’s such a good point! We all have our strengths, so partnership-working makes complete sense (especially when someone who isn’t confident is going to take 2-3x as long to do it!). I’ve definitely been made to think you need to do it yourself for it to count!
Very true! It can sometimes be more overwhelming to feel like you’re the only one not grasping everything! Definitely wish I was more mathematically-minded though 😂
Haha I feel like I’m very much missing these kind of people in my life! 😂

Honestly, does anyone actually enjoy statistics??*🙈 Higher Maths is the only exam I’ve ever failed & I think I have some sort of inability to understand anything other than basic math! Like, what even is a Mantel Haenszel Test of Trend?! 🤦🏼♀️😩
*I know some do, just let me rant during thesis-writing 😂
Very much feeling this, this week with various responsibilities 😅 why did January feel so far away in December?!
hootenanny nearly upon us
