Crockett: He went from being the dork that was jumping around on stage to allegedly being this amazing genius that's gonna save a country he wasn't born in, and one that maybe he doesn't agree w/the idea of a democratic republic, considering the fact he may have been more on the side of apartheid.
Part of my advocacy for not surrendering is sustaining, which involves taking breaks, pleasure, and beauty. See you in the streets (and these ancients producing brand new acorns and leaves on the trails).
We're in a coup, which means we're in a nightmare, which means we're all ramped up, so let me offer you some deep time, perseverance, and beauty, before you and I go back to the work.
Itβs a coup. Itβs a strategic alliance with Putin. Itβs the end of the post-war international order. Itβs the triumph of lies over truth and in Putinβs case, evil over good. We are through the looking glass & we all now have to decide who we are & what we stand for
Good things: signs of spring.
The brilliant AOC upsets a lot of men a lot, and since they have no idea that that's what's going on they subject us to their inanities, and now I am going to close replies so I don't have to hear a bunch of junk.
This is a venn diagram showing how 69 Trump actions map onto domains covering: undermining democratic institutions; suppressing dissent and media; dismantling social protections; attacking science and education; destabilising the global order. Trumpβs first 3 weeks have been a relentless flood of actions. It's incredibly hard to keep up.
Iβve gone through 69 actions & mapped out the pattern - showing how they fall within 5 broad domains consistent with authoritarian states 1/9
Sounds grouchy but USE your local indy. We have authors email with a new book who say they are local but weβve never seen them before. Where do they buy their books? Indies form valuable connections & support newbies, make friends & go the extra mile to sell stuff if there is already a relationship.

This is not only morally reprehensible, but a breach of the UN Refugee Convention.
No refugee should be discriminated against on the basis of how they entered the country

If this were Just Stop Oil, there'd have been dozens of arrests, furious denunciations in the billionaire press and, perhaps, long jail sentences. Farmers have a right to protest, and the police respect it. Other people, it seems, not so much.

I wasnβt surprised when I saw who the publisher was. Awful.
Currently working my way through ShΕgun. Finding it very slow so far. Someone tell me it picks up?

President Trump campaigned on lowering costs. But heβs letting billionaire Elon Musk and Project 2025 Architect Russ Vought kill the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
If they succeed, CEOs on Wall Street will once again be free to cheat you out of your savings.
A year today since I was nuked by Elon Musk for writing a column which correctly stated he benefits from racism and spam. The real mindfuck is this was deemed so shocking that questions about my ban were put to Twitter execs by the Irish parliament (lol). 12mths later, that seems hilariously quaint.
This is what should be on every front page right now. What's happening in the US right now is an illegal power grab by a private citizen. IT'S A COUP.
It's a digital coup. It's Musk who's leading it. The consequences are terrifying. And it's coming for us next.

1. Here are just a few of the ways in which Starmerβs Labour Party seems determined to alienate its voters and lose the next election. As they pile up, you have to keep pinching yourself and asking, βwhat the hell is it playing at?β π§΅

Assuming 1st trad and 2nd POD? As Iβd usually guess the other way round. There are some interesting cover choices out there
