Had a medical episode at 1am
Ambulance was called
Probably not going to be posting anything for the next few days.
I don't think I will be working on any archive updates this month.
Just going to take it easy.

No one knows what happened to the phase Γ¬i models
Oh yes
I chose to make her husband Will as the councellor in this AU where she's the diplomatic officer.
I don't think Will has quite the same skill set as regular universe Troi.
They look fabulous in it
Her husband William, the ship's sex Counceller, got her a new mug for her hot chocolate
It says "You don't have to be psychic to work here, but it helps"
Given that Troi (like most of the Diplomatic Corps) is psychic - she knew what gift he had bought. Still its the thought that count.
Yes - even the men
I like the colour inversions - it seems a good solution
Here is Troi, the ship's Chief Diplomatic Officer, in the diplomatic corps purple unifrom.
All members of the corps wear exactly the same uniform.
Possible division colours
Security (Grey)
Tactical (Orange) - phaser, torpedo crews
Engineering (green) - anyone who fixes the ship
Operations (Yellow) - helm, ops, shuttles, cargo
Medical (white)
Science (blue)
Command (red) - commanders upwards
Diplomatic (Purple)
I would really like there to be more division colours than just three.
You could also have a stripe to indicate shared division.
E.g. Chief engineer is in engineering colours, but with a red command stripe on his shoulder
or
Medical division with a science stripe to indicate a medical researcher.
I like your design and model. Though the floral pattern on the underside made me smile
We had a lovely large second hand bookshop in town - it shut down years ago. The unit was split into two - one half a tanning salon, and the other a vape shop.
A huge congrats to Bastien Grivet for winning a Childrenβs and Family Emmy Award for STAR TREK: PRODIGY!
He was recognized for βIndividual Achievement in Animation - Background Designβ.
Very well deserved! π
I'm still chipping away at a new website and blog. Here is a preview of the new logo, and well, a 2021-ish shot of the Aventine, as you don't follow me for logos. :D
The Probert design had a impulse at the back of the saucer (green)
Sternback design model only had an impulse on stardrive (also green) - the saucer splits off just above it. However I wonder if the part marked in orange was meant to be the saucer impulse (its featureless on the model)

I have more images of the ships designed for Perpetual Entertainment in this folder of my archive:

With only Probert's side profile and painting to go by, Sternbach had to start again from scratch.
Sternbach's initial design had a secondary hull closer to Probert's, but time and money constraints changed this to a hull that could be made on a lathe.

The shakedown cruise of the new ship surprised engineers. It's new warp profile performed signficantly better than the sum of its parts.
Starfleet gave the order - all new Ambasssadar class ships were to be built to this new configuration as the Ambasador MK2 (Enterprise subclass)
(2/3)
A "Diplomat" class star drive reached almost final completion, with significant delays to its saucer section.
The decision was made - modify both the star drive and ENT-C saucer to fit and ensure system compatibility.
The new hybrid ship was able to return to duty in only a few months
Head canon (1/3)
The Enterprise C was built to the Probert design, but the star drive section was completely destroyed.
It would take several years to build a new Ambassador star drive, which would have seen the crew dispersed/reassigned.
However an opportunity presented itself.
John Eaves ship sketches. The ship on the lower right was designed for Perpetual Entertainment's cancelled game.
Its possible that ships A, B, and C were also for Perpetual Entertainment. However Eaves is known to reuse unused ship concepts in later projects (such as the Eleos)
John Eaves did sketches for the Protostar from Prodigy, one of them looks a lot like the Eleos - the general design is one that Eaves reworked for multiple projects.
I do wonder if the in universe Ambassador change was Starfleet agreeing to a design, then changing parameters during development.
Beefier engines, expand the secondary hull for more cargo etc.
During development of Star Trek 2009, the Enterprise was resized several times.
John Eaves drew this image to poke a little fun at the resizing.
That phaser looks great
The Phase II moulds were modified to look more TMP, and then new castings were made for Planet Hollywood.
The fate of the original Phase II model is unknown.
It was meant to be in the Phase II pilot episode "In Thy Image"
Aspects of this script were reworked into the TMP script
The TNG Episode "the Ghild" was a direct rewrite of the same named Phase II episode script
Turns out the original PC World article was generated by AI - no basis on anything
