The chart shows that childless Britons losing employment will see less of their vanished wages replaced by benefits than those in any other comparable country, aside from Australia and the US. Even for a lone British parent with two children, the so-called ‘replacement rate’ is 16 percentage points lower than the OECD average, representing the fourth-lowest level of relative support for
such a family across the entire rich-country club.
The safety net for Britons is far lower than most of their counterparts.
Many other benefits systems around the world hardwire in a specific link between typical wages and general benefit rates, or what an individual's previous earnings and the payments they are entitled to.

Yeah, great, for the upper middle class with assets and supportive family. Not for ppl living hand to mouth in a system that hates disabled ppl, won't provide social security and w no choice but to hold down any work you can or be homeless. I'm sick of the discussion of pacing like it's a choice.

Yes, when there's a social security system and those of us forced to do any and all work we can to survive don't have to do that any more. You can't change your routine when your employer tells you what it is.

A dark blue graphic for International Women’s Day featuring a purple and blue gradient hand icon with a heart in the palm at the top. The word "WOMENS" is written in large block letters, with each letter containing a black-and-white photo of women. Below it, the word "Day" is written in pink script. At the bottom, pink text reads: "Diseases that mostly affect women – like Long Covid and ME – are still trivialised, psychologised, and dangerously underfunded. Medical misogyny isn’t a relic. It’s alive and well."
👭 On #InternationalWomensDay we honour the women with Long Covid and ME and allies who keep pushing for truth, research, and care.

Um, Fort Campbell middle school would like a word. We have many schools on bases, and Bolton knows it. More ghoulish nonsense from war Hawks to justify the murder of little girls.

When you hear people ask
(and you will hear people ask)
if these machines
are conscious,
please try to remember:
that the question is not
if these machines
are conscious,
but why it is that we
treat people
we know are conscious
like they are machines.

Also, alongside serrapeptase, the only thing that's ever given me complete relief from lifelong acne. Until I started taking Oxaloacetate, and now any natto or serra burns my guts and I can't take it, so I have acne again :(

I.e., many things can run a person down (life crisis, great stress, car accident, surgery, vax etc.) So could a barely noticeable/asymptomatic infection be taking advantage and, in some cases, that leads to ME/LC, but we look to the non-viral 'cause'?

Don't forget asymptomatic viral infection. We know that it doesn't have to be a really bad infection to cause ME or LC, perhaps it could be asymptomatic. Doesn't help us find the answer, but it's another thing to rule out.
