With many idle hours lately,I decided to run a custom length cable for every ethernet device in my home office. Terminating cables is a fairly enjoyable, but can be really annoying when you think you've got it, then your speedtests tell you otherwise. Guess I'll cut both ends and start again.
Gotta love playoff baseball in 4k! Go Tigers!! #Detroit
that orange iPhone 17 Pro π₯°π
Unquestionably, though, I've appreciated having #ecobee thermostats in my house. Their logging, metrics, charts, and notifications are outstanding. Even though I was very much aware of the temperature, I appreciated the email giving me a heads up in case I was away.
Ever wondered what it's like in this wild North Carolina to have your < 1 year old > hvac system die? #ncwx

Thinking that I should probably go ahead and add this as part of my standard email signature.
π₯΅ Got away from my desk for a quick walk around the block, and I regret everything. #Raleigh, it's friggen hot out.

Let's go! #Beta #WWDC25
The WWDC keynote is ending with a performance of a man who is singing app store reviews π΅βπ«
Not gonna lie, I really like the new naming convention. #WWDC25
Background apps API brings the ability for an app to keep working in the background while you switch to another app. This has been a true bottleneck to accomplishing work with the iPad. Seriously pumped for this. #WWDC25
ok the new windowing system on iPadOS 26 looks neat
Blown away by the changes to iPadOS multitasking. Yes, it's making it much more like the mac. But that's what I want. Give us the ability to take advantage of all the power under the hood.
Can't wait to start poking around at Private Cloud Compute with Shortcuts #WWDC25
Big updates to Spotlight on MacOS; but it feels like they just copied the way that Raycast has been operating for a few years. The features included look great and I hope they get adopted by normal users. It's going to be tough to rip Raycast away from me though. #WWDC25 #Raycast
This might low-key be my favorite feature announced today: You can now automate your shortcuts on MacOS!
Oooooh, live activities in MacOS too! #WWDC25
The new finder icon is... not my favorite thing ever. #WWDC25
This is kind of cool, granted I am not the target audience: Karaoke in Apple Music on the Apple TV, using your iPhone as the microphone that will actually play your singing through the TV's output. #WWDC25
Not complaining here, but it feels like the Apple TV portion was simply advertising the TV+ content. Which, is content I like; however, it still only represents a small subset of my entertainment. #WWDC25
So... when's that beta dropping? #WWDC25
"Visual intelligence" let's you create a calendar event from a screenshot... love it
Few things so far about #WWDC:
- New naming convention (love this)
- New unified design elements throughout platforms (also love the way it looks in the marketing materials)
- Updates to carplay, including widgets and live activities (very welcome)
