When it comes to weather, I actually revel in the grey days. I think I feel oddly validated by them. As a knitter, I have a magic spell to ward off the drear.

For #ShowMeYourKnits sweater week, here is my Two-Timers Club - four sweaters I enjoyed so much that I made them twice. Details in ALT text. Bonus: crochet sweater included!

That sweater brings just the right bit of cheer. My neck of the world has been so grey this week!
A lace blanket in progress, worked in green worsted weight yarn.
Black and white image of a completed Leaves of Grass blanket from 2015. I'm working on my fourth iteration of this pattern by Jared Flood.
A bit late to the game, but my last minute entry for #ShowMeYourKnits lace week is my current Leaves of Grass blanket. Since it's not much to look at yet, I give you a view of the same pattern when I worked it in 2015.
You can get the Rum Runner pattern on sale through Sunday. It's a lovely hat that I may likely knit again. I'm an admirer of Thea's designs, particularly for her use of texture and cables, and this is a really nice one.

Another sideview of the Rum Runner hat
A peek at the crown of the Rum Runner hat pattern
A man with an ever-whitening beard and glasses looks to the side, wearing a cabled hat that was just released this week
In May I test knitted a hat pattern for @theacolman.bsky.social
Sadly, the yarn being considered for the design went out of production before the pattern was released. This really is a big setback. Yarn choice sometimes paralyzes me in the design process, so hats off to Thea for her perseverance!
A woman holding up a blanket that is about 53" showing a large black and white chicken with a chicken wire background.
Back of the chicken blanket has fabric with white and brown eggs and fabric with bacon and eggs.
Short green socks with chickens just under the cuff and yellow toes with white making them look like sunny side up.
This week's #showmeyourknits is all about animals. My daughter keeps chickens so I'm always happy to knit some! Epic blanket www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib... and the cutest socks www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib... ๐งถ #knitting #knitsky
Beige lace handknit shawl depicting an owl, wings spread wide. Draped over the back of a green futon.
This week is anthing animal-related. Here's a lace owl shawl I made for my big sis. #showmeyourknits #knitting #knitsky

A garter stitch glove being knit in handspun yarn with colors reminiscent of the aurora borealis.
So I did get to try them out in light wind, and they were pretty great. The only spot that seemed to let air in was at the crook of the thumb, which could be closed up with a bit of care. They've been quick and fun and useful; I could see them being great gifts. I just started a pair in handspun.
I haven't gotten to try them in wind. I don't think the seams would let air through, but maybe the overall fabric might? I'm using them for driving / cleaning ice off the car.
Yes, I whipstitched them, I believe. It worked really well, though it takes just settling in for the long ride.
Gonna follow suit with a last minute alphabet sequence cheat for my latest FO.
D for Digits - the pattern is Sideways Gloves 8-ply dk by Shara Made. Yarn is (of course, if you know me) #BriarRoseFibers Charity

Oh, I'm reminded of mmario! What a lovely shawl.

I don't sell finished items. The linked pattern is for sale.
Thanks, I knit it over the course of a month

Six different yarn samples, all but one a blend of two or three colors of wool
Three yarn samples. On the left is yellow-magenta knit into i-cord, on the right is yellow-raspberry/pink, and the center uses all three colors
A magenta-periwinkle blend yarn being worked on double point needles into i-cord
Two yarns, blending periwinkle with yellow or green, respectively. The colors haven't blended much and at this close range appear distinct.
Better photos. I've started knitting i-cord to sample the #handspun yarn samples.
So pretty!
Pink and yellow Merino wool top on the left, an airy tube with both colors mixed on the right. It looks a bit like a swirled confection.
A suspension spindle next to three samples of chain-plied yarn: pink-purple, blended from periwinkle and magenta, a solid green, and a yellow-green.
I've been playing with #spindle spinning the past week or so and having fun mixing colors in fauxlags, teasing out fiber with my bare hands (sounds very butch, no?)
Sorry for the bad pics.

So glad you asked - it's Briar Rose Fibers Abundance
Yeah, I think the Brits would say I'm chuffed at the results.
Well, I definitely believe in a masculinity that isn't threatened by art and handiwork. I think if I was to blanket recommend something to all men, it'd be proper therapy. Especially now. To become open to caring for one's own soul/fulfillment is the real challenge.
The hat is especially cozy. Now I see why everyone goes nuts over the Musselburgh.
Thanks so much!
Crocheted leafy motifs swirl along the edge of a piece not big enough to look like a mitt yet
I started a mitt based on the same motif, but it was a higher quality of attention than I'm often willing give my needlework. The result is that it's languishing. You hat is gorgeous!
Thanks!
A man looks away amidst a snowy background, sporting handmade garments in varying tones of green and purple and blue. Green fingerless mitts, a green and purple crocheted cardigan, a striped kerchief cowl, and a striped hat using a handspun gradient to literally top things off
Stealing the moment between shoveling for a pretty snow pic with all my green and purple projects of late.
